answer text <p>The Home Office is unable to state how many substantive interviews for asylum applications have been carried out in the last 12 months, because this data is not held in a reportable format, not routinely published and could only be obtained at disproportionate cost.</p><p>However, the Home Office does publish data on the number of asylum claims awaiting an initial decision by duration, for main claimant only. This data can be found at Asy_04 of the published Immigration Statistics:</p><p><a href="https://www.gov.uk/government/statistics/immigration-statistics-year-ending-june-2022/list-of-tables#asylum-and-resettlement" target="_blank">List of tables - GOV.UK (www.gov.uk)</a></p><p>The Home Office is committed to ensuring asylum claims are considered without unnecessary delay; that individuals who need protection are granted asylum as soon as possible, so that they can start to integrate and rebuild their lives.</p> more like this

answer text <p>To qualify for home fee status in England, a person must have settled status or a recognised connection to the UK. This includes persons who are covered by EU law, have long residence in this country or who have been granted international protection by the Home Office. There are also requirements associated with ordinary residence in the UK.</p><p>Subject to meeting the normal eligibility requirements, British Nationals (Overseas) status holders will be able to qualify for home fee status once they have acquired settled status in the UK. The same applies to the dependents of such persons.</p><p>Higher Education Providers have discretion to charge a student who is not eligible for home fee status whatever fee they deem appropriate, including the same fee as they charge students who have home fee status.</p> more like this
