star this property answer text <p>I have not met with any gambling companies since my appointment. The Minister for Sport and Civil Society, together with officials, hold regular such meetings and I will be attending a roundtable with the gambling industry later this year.</p><p> </p><p>I held a meeting with the hon Member for Shipley and the hon Member for Tewkesbury on 10 October and have held further conversations with colleagues on this issue.</p><p> </p><p>I am fully briefed on all aspects of the Gambling Review, including the Government's response to Gaming Machines and Social Responsibility Measures.</p> more like this

star this property answer text <p>The roulette-style products launched on 1 April by two high-street bookmakers were withdrawn the following day after a warning from the Gambling Commission. The Commission is continuing to investigate the circumstances and the operators could still face regulatory action. The Commission may also investigate key senior staff at bookmakers who are responsible for bringing those products to market.</p><p> </p><p>The Government and the Gambling Commission expect industry to comply with both the spirit and the letter of the new regulations to ensure that consumers continue to be protected from harm.</p><p> </p> more like this

star this property answer text <p>The Government announced a review of Gaming Machines on 24 October which will look at evidence in regards to stakes and prizes of gaming machines; the number and location of gaming machines; and social responsibility measures to protect players and communities from gambling-related harm, including gambling advertising.</p><p> </p><p>This review will include a close look at the issue of sub-category B2 gaming machines (more commonly known as Fixed Odds Betting Terminals - FOBTs) and specific concerns about the harm they cause, be that to the players themselves or the local communities in which they are located. This is the correct mechanism in which to look again at this issue.</p><p> </p><p>There is now an opportunity for anyone with an interest in this matter to submit evidence for consideration. The Call for Evidence period ends on 4 December 2016.</p><p> </p> more like this
