star this property answer text <p>Where Employment Support Allowance or Personal Independence Payment claimants have an approved appointee, this will be flagged in the initial referral to the Assessment Provider. If a face-to-face assessment is deemed necessary, the Assessment Provider will send the invite to the appointee only.</p><p> </p><p>In regards to any other ‘advocate’ ie: not an approved benefit appointee, as long as the claimant has made this request clear when claiming PIP or ESA, either by providing a correspondence address, the advocate’s personal details or on their Questionnaire – the PIP2 or the ESA50, then this will be acted upon.</p><p> </p><p>Department works with providers to ensure guidance is understood and applied in line with policy intent.</p> more like this

The highest priority is placed on confidentiality, protecting the information the Health Providers hold about claimants securely. star this property answer text <p>Officers from the DWP Visiting Team, as appropriate, visit claimants to support them in making an application for benefit or for on-going administration of their claim – for example if they have a change in their circumstances. The majority of visits conducted by DWP take place in a claimant’s home. However, an officer can also arrange an appointment at an alternative place, such as an information point (surgery) or hospital, if a claimant is deemed to be vulnerable or is in need of additional support when making an application for benefit or for on-going support. We may also visit centenarians to confirm they can receive and appreciate a congratulatory birthday card from the Queen.</p> more like this

However, Universal Credit does have a reclaims process, which provides a simple route back onto Universal Credit for claimants who experience a short break in entitlement.
