answer text <p>The Ministry of Defence continues to use commercial flights to bring individuals to the UK from a number of third countries. answer text <p>As of 21 June 2023, 36,348 ARAP applications have been refused while 3,470 applications have been deemed eligible. Of these, approximately 220 principal applicants remain in Afghanistan, while 271 are in Islamabad. We have relocated 2,684 principal applicants to safety in the UK - over 12,200 people in total including family members. The remainder are in locations other than those listed in the hon. answer text <p>We estimate there are 255 individuals with confirmed ARAP eligibility in Afghanistan (an estimated 1,950 including family members). All Principal applicants are over 18. We are unable to provide a demographic breakdown of family members.</p><p>Supporting the relocation of ARAP eligible persons out of Afghanistan and into the safety of third countries is a top priority. We are unable to provide details on onward travel or third country destinations for operational security reasons.</p><p>The hon. Member should note that the Afghan Citizen's Resettlement Scheme is a separate scheme to ARAP, which is administered by the Home Office and Foreign, Commonwealth and Development Office, and is a Home Office lead overall.</p> more like this

answer text <p>Since the end of Op PITTING and the UK's presence in Afghanistan, our ability to offer any in-country support has been severely affected as such we have not accepted anyone under Category 3 of the ARAP scheme. As a result, our priority has been to focus on those eligible for relocation via other categories of the ARAP scheme.</p> more like this

answer text <p>Section 16 of the online ARAP application form ('What was your Employing Department?') provides a list of the relevant Government Departments to applicants.</p><p>The ARAP team works across Government to conduct checks with relevant Departments by whom the applicant was employed, contracted to or worked alongside, in partnership with or closely supported or assisted.</p><p>While any UK Government Department that operated in Afghanistan could be considered a relevant Department, the following are the most applicable: Ministry of Defence, Home Office, and the Foreign, Commonwealth and Development Office.</p> more like this

answer text <p>Given the sensitivity of the security checks element of the process, we are unable to give precise numbers of individuals at each stage of the process.</p><p>We recognise there is a desire to give specific numbers and details of each cohort and their positions throughout the process of resettlement. This is a dynamic picture, which changes daily. It would not be helpful for those in Afghanistan for us to give a running commentary on numbers, which could draw attention to those preparing to cross the border.</p><p>For Pakistan, as of 4 September, there are circa 2030 ARAP eligible individuals, and circa 700 eligible individuals under ACRS Pathway 3.</p> more like this
