answer	answer is ministerial correction date of answer 27/06/2017 answer text <p>We will review our counter-terrorism arrangements to ensure that we are doing everything possible to address the threat from terrorism and to keep the public safe, drawing on lessons from the recent attacks in London and Manchester.</p><p>This review will ensure that the police and the security services have the powers they need and that the prison sentences for those found guilty of terror offences are sufficient to keep us all safe. The review will also consider what further steps need to be taken to halt the spread of extremist material and poisonous propaganda online, so there are no safe spaces on the internet for terrorists.</p><p>MI5 and the police are conducting an internal review into the recent terrible attacks in Manchester and London. David Anderson QC will provide external assurance of the MI5 and police review. This independent scrutiny will provide confidence that the work is thorough and the Government will take forward recommendations that may arise. answer	answer is ministerial correction date of answer 17/11/2016 answer text <p>The UK is currently providing support to multiple operations across the Mediterranean.</p><p>Some of these have an explicit focus on search and rescue: Border Force and Royal Navy assets are supporting Operations POSEIDON and TRITON in the Aegean and central Mediterranean respectively.</p><p>Migrants have also been rescued this year as part of Operation SOPHIA – the EU’s military response to counter migrant smuggling from Libya. Although SOPHIA does not have a search and rescue mandate, under the UNCLOS, vessels respond to those in distress at sea. Since 2011 we have supported over 180 community-based Prevent projects. Last year we supported over 70 community projects which worked with nearly 40,000 people. However, the UK works closely with European counterparts in the common goal of preventing and disrupting terrorist activity. We work with Member States’ intelligence services on a bilateral basis and through the Counter Terrorism Group. We also collaborate with European partners through bilateral policy and law enforcement exchanges on counter-terrorism and exchange threat assessments and information on our respective approaches to counter terrorism. answer	answer is ministerial correction date of answer 11/02/2016 answer text <p>The UK operates three resettlement programmes: Gateway, Mandate and the Syrian Resettlement Scheme.</p><p>Only UNHCR registered Syrian nationals are eligible under the Syrian Resettlement Scheme, which has been expanded to resettle 20,000 individuals during this Parliament. answer	answer is ministerial correction date of answer 04/09/2018 answer text <p>Clause 17 of the Offensive Weapons Bill provides the definition of “bladed product” for the prohibition on the delivery of knives and other bladed items to residential addresses under Clause 15 of the Bill. A “bladed product” is an article which is, or has, a blade and is capable of causing serious injury to a person which involves cutting that person’s skin. If ordered online, and meeting the definition of “bladed product”, then these articles would need to be collected from a place where age verification can take place, either by the purchaser or their representative.</p><p>Specialist tools may be exempted from the prohibition on the delivery to a residential address dependant on the specific item in question.</p><p>The Bill provides a number of defences around the prohibition of delivery of bladed items to a residential address. For example, deliveries to business premises, including where a business is run from home, would not be affected by the prohibition. Paragraph 323AA of the Immigration Rules defines circumstances in which a Tier 2 or 5 migrant’s leave may be curtailed. This includes absences from work without pay for four weeks or more during any calendar year. There is no specified exemption for strike or industrial action.
