answer	answer is ministerial correction date of answer 22/01/2016 answer text <p>On the day of the report the Crown Prosecution Service (CPS) agreed to act on each of the three recommendations made.</p><ul><li>The CPS is already conducting a review of overall support to victims and witnesses with the police and agreeing our respective roles in communication will form part of this review;</li><li>The CPS will ensure that the quality assurance checks of communications from the Victim Liaison Units (VLUs) are improved through guidance and training; and</li><li>The CPS will seek to improve both the flagging of substantial alterations in appropriate cases and the systems for notification of the VLUs.</li></ul><p>In addition, the CPS has already taken action to address a range of issues identified in the report. For example, they have redeployed more paralegal staff and managers to Crown Courts to ensure that there are sufficient staff to support victims and witnesses. When rollout is complete around 350 paralegal staff and managers will be based at Crown Courts across England and Wales. The CPS is also introducing new guidance on Speaking to Witnesses at Court which will improve the service provided and is currently operating in a number of pathfinder sites. On 6 June 2014, a Rape Action Plan was jointly published by the police and Crown Prosecution Service (CPS), which sets out a series of actions designed to improve the criminal justice response in rape cases. This followed a Rape National Scrutiny Panel led by the Director of Public Prosecutions and the National Policing lead for rape, which considered the investigation and prosecution of rape cases including their referral from the police to the CPS. answer	answer is ministerial correction date of answer 12/11/2018 answer text <p>We have not estimated the number of homes that would be built on a local authority basis, following the abolition of the Housing Revenue Account borrowing cap. We estimate that nationally, local authority delivery will increase to around 10,000 homes per year. Local authorities in South Yorkshire, and elsewhere, are able to use their new borrowing freedom to start building new homes to meet the needs of their communities immediately. We want to see them seize this opportunity and build a new generation of council housing.</p><p>In respect of the additional £2 billion of grant funding for Affordable Housing from 2022 to 2029, it is not possible to determine the distribution across regions until bids have been approved. Homes England do publish allocations data on the current 2016-2022 Affordable Homes Programme outside of London. As of March 2018, 1,361 affordable homes have been allocated grant funding in South Yorkshire.</p><p>Local authorities in South Yorkshire were successful in securing £5.8 million of Housing Infrastructure Fund (HIF) Marginal Viability Funding, which will unlock up to 730 homes. The final funding amounts are subject to a funding clarification process that is currently underway. We are currently working with Sheffield City Regions Combined Authority to develop their HIF Forward Funding bid. answer	answer is ministerial correction date of answer 29/01/2015 answer text <p>This Department does not make estimates of the number of refuge places for those fleeing domestic abuse. Decisions on the provision of accommodation for victims of domestic abuse are for local authorities. We expect local authorities to commission services based on the needs of their communities, taking account of locally available data sources.</p><p> </p><p>Government does not directly fund domestic abuse refuges, however, this Government has invested £6.5 billion to help vulnerable people through housing related support. A proportion of this money will be used by local authorities to commission refuge services. In addition we have made over £500 million available since 2010 to local authorities and the voluntary sector to prevent and tackle homelessness and rough sleeping including support for victims of domestic abuse.</p><p> </p><p>In November 2014 we made available £10 million (2014-16) for local authorities, working with specialist domestic abuse service providers, to stop the closure of refuges and improve and grow existing provision. We also issued new statutory guidance that makes clear the practice of providing refuge to support only to local victims is unacceptable and which set out clear standards that refuges services should meet.</p><p> </p><p>The dynamics of domestic abuse mean that accommodation can play an important role in the resolution of interpersonal abuse and conflict. This is why the homelessness legislation in England provides one of the strongest safety nets in the world for families with children and for vulnerable people who become homeless through no fault of their own.</p><p> </p><p>We also fund UKRefugesOnline a UK wide database of domestic violence services which supports the national 24 hour free phone domestic violence helpline. This service enables those working with victims of domestic violence to identify appropriate services and potential refuge vacancies around the country so that victims can get the help they need as quickly as possible.</p><p> </p><p>In addition, this Government has ring-fenced nearly £40 million of funding for specialist local domestic and sexual violence support services until 2015. This funding is used to part-fund 54 multi-agency risk assessment conference co-ordinators and 144 independent domestic violence advisers. We have piloted and rolled out Clare's Law and domestic violence protection orders; extended the definition of domestic abuse to cover controlling behaviour and teenage relationships; run two successful campaigns to challenge perceptions of abuse; and placed Domestic Homicide Reviews on a statutory footing to make sure lessons are learned from individual tragedies. More recently we have added an amendment to the Serious Crime Bill at Commons Committee stage to create a new offence of domestic abuse.
