star this property answer text <p>The Secretary of State recognises the importance of parks and green spaces in building safer, stronger and more integrated communities. We announced on 7 October that Government would invest £1 million in a second pocket parks programme to create new parks and also provide support to maintain and improve existing parks to help bring existing parks back into safe and regular use.</p><p>The Government will shortly be publishing a prospectus, inviting bids for funding from across the England. Following closure of the application process, bids will be reviewed and announcement of successful applicants will be announced in spring 2018.</p><p> </p> more like this

star this property answer text <p>Time spent in temporary accommodation means people are getting help and it ensures no family is without a roof over their head. The law is clear that households with dependent children should only be accommodated in B&amp;B in an emergency and then for no longer than 6 weeks</p><p>Our new Homelessness Advice and Support Team, drawn from local authorities and the homelessness sector, is providing support to local authorities to help them address their homelessness challenges, including the use of B&amp;B accommodation for families.</p><p>We are taking unprecedented action to change how we tackle homelessness and rough sleeping. We have committed £1 billion through to 2020 to support local services and changing how local authorities operate by implementing the Homelessness Reduction Act from 3 April 2018 to help more people get tailored support sooner when they are homeless or at risk of becoming homeless.</p> more like this

star this property answer text <p>The £387 million extension to the Local Growth Fund included £137 million for Department for Transport for retained transport schemes.</p><p>The remaining £250 million was allocated to the Ministry of Housing, Communities and Local Government to support local economic recovery efforts as part of the Getting Building Fund (GBF) programme which was announced on 4 August. The Government has agreed “shovel ready” projects with Local Enterprise Partnerships and Mayoral Combined Authorities to be delivered over the next 15 months.</p><p>To help local areas prepare over 2021-22 for the introduction of the UKSPF, the Government will also provide £220 million additional funding to support our communities to pilot programmes and new approaches. This funding will be delivered UK-wide and further details will be published in the New Year.</p> more like this

star this property answer text <p>Towns were chosen on the basis of a robust selection methodology. This took into account various qualitative and quantitative indicators including income deprivation, skills, productivity, EU exit exposure, economic shocks, investment opportunities, and policy alignment.</p><p>The government is unable to publish the full selection methodology used to choose the 100 Towns that will work towards Town Deals at this time. This is because it includes information that relates to the formulation and development of government policy which is still live and ongoing. It will also feed into and inform future funding policy, including the competitive element of the Towns Fund.</p> more like this
