answer text <p>Relating to PQ 157394</p><p>The Home Office publishes data on the number of returns from the UK in each quarter in the ‘<a href="https://www.gov.uk/government/collections/immigration-statistics-quarterly-release" target="_blank">Immigration Statistics Quarterly release</a>’. The latest data on returns are published in Ret_D01 where the data are broken down by nationality and return destination group, and Ret_D02 of the <a href="https://www.gov.uk/government/statistical-data-sets/returns-and-detention-datasets#returns" target="_blank">returns detailed dataset</a> where the data are broken down by destination. The latest data relate to the year ending September 2021.</p><p>Information on how to use the dataset can be found in the ‘Notes’ page of the workbook.</p><p>The Home Office seeks to return people who do not have any legal right to stay in the UK, which includes people who:</p><ul><li>Enter, or attempt to enter, the UK illegally (including people entering clandestinely and by means of deception on entry)</li><li>Are subject to deportation action; for example, due to a serious criminal conviction</li><li>Overstay their period of legal right to remain in the UK</li><li>Breach their conditions of leave</li><li>Have been refused asylum</li></ul><p>Data for October 2021 onwards will be published in future immigration statistics publications. Future immigration statistics publication release dates can be found on the <a href="https://www.gov.uk/search/research-and-statistics?keywords=immigration&amp;content_store_document_type=upcoming_statistics&amp;organisations%5B%5D=home-office&amp;order=relevance" target="_blank">research and statistics calendar</a>.</p><p> </p><p>Relating to PQ 157395:</p><p>The Home Office publishes data on asylum in the ‘<a href="https://www.gov.uk/government/collections/immigration-statistics-quarterly-release" target="_blank">Immigration Statistics Quarterly Release</a>’. Data on inadmissibility, including individuals returned, are published in the chapter ‘<a href="https://www.gov.uk/government/statistics/immigration-statistics-year-ending-december-2021/how-many-people-do-we-grant-asylum-or-protection-to#inadmissibility" target="_blank">How many people do we grant asylum or protection to?</a>’.</p><p>The latest data cover up to the end of December 2021. The next release, covering January to March 2022, will be published on 26 May 2022.
