While Defra has not made an assessment of the potential impact of a lack of nest sites, Natural England, working with its partners, has identified that the lack of nest sites is one of the pressures on these species. answer	answer is ministerial correction date of answer 31/10/2024 answer text <p>The government will create a fairer business rates system that protects the high-street, supports investment, and is fit for the 21st century.</p><p> </p><p>Autumn Budget 2024 announced the first steps including an intention to introduce permanently lower multipliers for high street retail, hospitality, and leisure (RHL) properties from April 2026. To fund this sustainably the government also intends to introduce a higher multiplier on properties with Rateable Values (RV) of £500,000 or more.</p><p> </p><p>During the interim period, for 2025-26, RHL properties will receive a 40% relief on business rates bills up to a cash cap of £110,000 per business. This includes requiring large employers to publish plans setting out how they are tackling the gender pay gap and supporting employees during the menopause. The consultation proposed that the new standards would apply to all new domestic and non-domestic buildings.</p><p>We fully support the need for low carbon homes and buildings, fit for a net zero future. Readiness is assessed as being on track. A plan is in place that includes a comprehensive list of readiness activity, with engagement well underway with trade.</p><p> </p><p>On 13 September, Government announced an extension to the easement of import checks on medium-risk fruit and vegetables imported from the EU from January 2025 to 1 July 2025. answer	answer is ministerial correction date of answer 29/10/2024 answer text <p>The government is working to make the internet safer, through the Online Safety Act to ensure platforms limit harmful content and by helping citizens gain skills to navigate the online world.</p><p>Digital and media literacy skills are taught through several compulsory subjects within the school curriculum. This includes evaluating digital content, the implications of sharing personal data, harmful content and contact, cyberbullying, and over-reliance on social media. DSIT and DfE ministers collaborate to ensure these skills are integrated into education policy.
