answer text <p>The Prime Minister and Home Secretary announced the recruitment of 20,000 extra officers over the next three years.</p><p>The Chancellor has since announced that the Home Office will receive £750 million for investment in policing in 2020/21, to enable delivery of the year one officer uplift. This demonstrates our commitment to giving police extra resource to protect the public and keep us all safe.</p><p>The allocation of officers across England and Wales is yet to be confirmed. Force level funding will be set out in the usual way at the provisional police settlement.</p> more like this
