answer	answer is ministerial correction date of answer 25/01/2019 answer text <p>Home Office and Treasury Ministers have regular discussions covering a number of issues including changes to pension schemes. In his Budget speech, the Chancellor committed to providing funding to support the po-lice with additional pensions costs.</p><p>On 13 December we announced our proposed police funding settlement for 2019/20 which provides up to £970 million of additional investment in the policing system. This includes £153 million of additional pensions funding, £161 million in increased general grants and up to £509 million of additional funding from council tax precept, if Police and Crime Commissioners use the full flexibility provided. question text	To ask the Chancellor of the Duchy of Lancaster and Minister for the Cabinet Office, what steps his Department is taking to ensure that the requirement for photographic ID to vote will not disenfranchise blind and partially sighted people who are less likely to hold a passport or driving licence.

A broad range of documents already in use will be accepted, including, for example, various concessionary travel passes, Proof of Age Standards Scheme (PASS) cards, and photocard parking permits issued as part of the Blue Badge scheme. In addition, expired photographic ID will be accepted as long as the photograph is of a good enough likeness to allow polling station staff to confirm the identity of the holder.</p><p>For any voter who does not have one of the required forms of photographic ID, a free, local Voter Card will be available from their local authority.</p><p>We will continue to work with the Electoral Commission and other stakeholders, including the Equalities and Human Rights Commission and a wide range of charities and civil society organisations, to make sure that Voter ID is rolled out in a way that is inclusive for all eligible voters.</p><p>Everyone who is eligible to vote will have the opportunity to do so.</p><p>As legislation is brought forward to enable the national roll out of Voter ID, appropriate impact assessments will be provided for Parliament in the normal way.</p><p> </p> answering member constituency Norwich North answering member printed Chloe Smith question first answered 29/04/2021 11:01:23 answering member 1609 label Biography information for Chloe Smith
