The Home Office is following all Public Health England and Health Protection Scotland guidance on COVID-19 and have robust contingency plans in place.</p><p> </p><p>Measures such as protective isolation are considered on a case by case basis to minimise the risk of COVID-19 spreading in the immigration detention estate. Further measures including shielding, single occupancy rooms and the cessation of social visits have been introduced in line with the Government direction on social distancing. Appropriate personal protective equipment is available to contractor and healthcare staff when interacting with detainees being held in isolation.</p><p> </p><p>Handwashing facilities are available in all immigration removal centres and we are working closely with suppliers to ensure we have a continuous supply of soap and cleaning materials. In addition, each centre has posters and leaflets to inform detainees about the importance of handwashing and social distancing to minimise the risk from COVID-19. The position remains, as outlined on <a href="http://gov.uk/" target="_blank">gov.uk</a>, that everyone who can work from home should do so.</p><p>Where that is not possible, people should go into work where it is safe and they are not symptomatic, isolating or shielding. Relevant guidance including from Public Health England should be followed.</p><p>In terms of the provision of education for the children of certain key workers, it is already the case that security officers and private security workers working in, for example, hospitals and social care could be eligible as long as &quot;their specific role is necessary for the continuation of this essential public service&quot;. answer	answer is ministerial correction date of answer 03/02/2020 answer text <p>The UK’s ambition to end the preventable deaths of mothers, new-borns and children by 2030 is supported by our commitment to Gavi, the Vaccine Alliance and addressing malnutrition through Nutrition for Growth.</p><p>The UK’s £1.44 billion of support to Gavi between 2016-2020 has saved 1.4 million lives from vaccine-preventable diseases in 68 of the world’s poorest countries. answer	answer is ministerial correction date of answer 09/09/2019 answer text <p>The Department will shortly be consulting on proposals to provide increased flexibility to senior clinicians in the NHS Pension Scheme. As announced by my Rt. hon. Friend the Secretary of State for Health and Social Care on 7 August, the new consultation will provide flexibilities which go beyond the previous 50:50 option by enabling pension accrual and contribution rates to be varied – for example 20:20, 40:40 or 70:70.</p><p>The new proposals will allow senior clinicians to maximise their contribution to the National Health Service without unexpected tax penalties and whilst sustaining growth in their pension savings.</p><p>We intend to publish the consultation in week commencing 9 September.</p><p>The Government recognises the urgency in tackling this issue, so NHS Employers published guidance last week on possible local approaches that employers can consider taking immediately to mitigate the impact of pension tax on their workforce this tax year.</p> answering member constituency Kingswood answering member printed Chris Skidmore question first answered 09/09/2019 18:40:41 answering member 4021 label Biography information for Chris Skidmore

This has included working with ACAS to develop comprehensive advice and guidance and updating the content on the GOV.UK website. The Government’s recent consultation on pregnancy and maternity discrimination also asked how effective the current approach is in helping employees and employers to understand their rights and obligations. We will be publishing the Government response in due course.</p><p>The Equality Advisory and Support Service advises and assists individuals on issues relating to equality and human rights, across England, Scotland and Wales.
