answer text <p>The UK takes its responsibility towards countering the proliferation of weapons of mass destruction and advanced conventional military technology seriously. The Academic Technology Approval Scheme is a thorough, necessary and proportionate tool to protect UK research from misappropriation and divergence to military programmes of concern. While we are aware of some delays in granting approvals during this peak period ahead of the beginning of the academic year, the vast majority of applications are processed within published timescales.</p> more like this

answer text <p>It is crucial that we ensure everyone is treated fairly in the workplace, so that they can thrive and reach their full potential.</p><p>This Government is committed to the empowerment of women in the workplace. Over the last decade our work has seen the gender pay gap fall considerably, and a strong growth in the number of women in full-time work. To drive forward this progress we have recently announced a groundbreaking pay transparency pilot, a new STEM returners programme and a Taskforce on Women-Led High-Growth Enterprises.</p><p>On ethnicity pay gaps; in “Inclusive Britain”, the response to the Commission on Race and Ethnic Disparities’ report, we accepted the recommendation to publish guidance for employers to support a voluntary approach to ethnicity pay reporting. Work on this is already underway.</p> more like this

answer text <p>ONS last published data on the average (median) hourly pay differences between men and women in different ethnic groups in 2019 from the Annual Population Survey.</p><p>Pay differences between men and women vary by ethnic groups. While in most ethnic groups men earn more than women on average per hour, that is not the case in the Arab, Bangladeshi or black Caribbean ethnic groups.</p><p>Where men earn more than women, the largest pay difference is for people from the Indian ethnic group, where men earn £4.10 more per hour on average. answer text <p>In August 2022, following the emergency use approval by the United States Food and Drug Administration, the UK Health Security Agency (UKHSA) and Joint Committee on Vaccination and Immunisation endorsed the use of a fractional dose of the vaccines used for monkeypox given by intradermal injection during periods of supply constraints.</p><p>Under the approach, eligible people are offered a 0.1 millilitre (ml) dose of the vaccines, instead of the 0.5ml dose typically administered. This will potentially enable up to a five-fold increase in the number of people that can be offered vaccination. NHS England and the UKHSA are currently assessing the operational feasibility of using fractional dosing, including necessary staffing model, vaccination throughput, volume and patient experience.</p> more like this
