answer text <p>The standing charge remains capped under the Government’s Energy Price Guarantee (EPG), which means that a household with typical energy use in Great Britain will pay, on average, around £2,500 a year on their energy bill up till April 2023, when the EPG will be reviewed.</p><p> </p><p>The energy regulator, Ofgem, recently reviewed the components of the standing charge to see if they could be reduced. Ofgem concluded that while some low consuming users, might benefit from change, some higher consuming users, including vulnerable users, would pay more. answer text <p>The department runs the English Housing Survey (EHS), which collects data on the number and proportion of households in each tenure. We have published data on the number and proportion of households in owner occupation in each region, for the most recent year of data collection (2020-21). However, due to sample size, the EHS cannot give robust figures at the constituency level. <br> <br> For the most recently published data, the number of owner-occupied households in each region is as follows:</p><table><tbody><tr><td><p>North East</p></td><td><p>752</p></td></tr><tr><td><p>North West</p></td><td><p>2,151</p></td></tr><tr><td><p>Yorkshire and the Humber</p></td><td><p>1,518</p></td></tr><tr><td><p>East Midlands</p></td><td><p>1,399</p></td></tr><tr><td><p>West Midlands</p></td><td><p>1,620</p></td></tr><tr><td><p>East of England</p></td><td><p>1,794</p></td></tr><tr><td><p>South East</p></td><td><p>2,754</p></td></tr><tr><td><p>South West</p></td><td><p>1,752</p></td></tr><tr><td><p>London</p></td><td><p>1,799</p></td></tr><tr><td><p> </p></td><td><p> </p></td></tr><tr><td><p>total</p></td><td><p>15,540</p></td></tr></tbody></table><p><br> Full details are available in the 20-21 Private Rented Sector report, at annex table 1.2, available on gov.uk here: <a href="https://gbr01.safelinks.protection.outlook.com/?url=https%3A%2F%2Fwww.gov.uk%2Fgovernment%2Fstatistics%2Fenglish-housing-survey-2020-to-2021-private-rented-sector&amp;data=05%7C01%7CParliamentary%40levellingup.gov.uk%7Cd92481ec2a00410d146b08daad318675%7Cbf3468109c7d43dea87224a2ef3995a8%7C0%7C0%7C638012725452014144%7CUnknown%7CTWFpbGZsb3d8eyJWIjoiMC4wLjAwMDAiLCJQIjoiV2luMzIiLCJBTiI6Ik1haWwiLCJXVCI6Mn0%3D%7C3000%7C%7C%7C&amp;sdata=9zaQC8o8pRc2ClK0gsyTAmLMdQ%2FTwlSbse4OaZCWxTE%3D&amp;reserved=0" target="_blank">https://www.gov.uk/government/statistics/english-housing-survey-2020-to-2021-private-rented-sector</a>.</p>
