answer	answer is ministerial correction date of answer 27/11/2018 answer text <p>The Government is committed to ensuring that people should not be forced to sell their home in their lifetime to pay for their care. answer	answer is ministerial correction date of answer 27/11/2018 answer text <p>Social care is funded through a combination of central government grants, council tax and business rates which in the past have remained stable sources of income through economic downturns.</p><p>The Government conducts an ongoing assessment of the sustainability of the local government system. This is a dynamic assessment which reflects emerging analysis of pressures and risks and is kept under review.</p><p>The Government is dedicated to supporting the adult social care system and as such has given councils access to up to £3.6 billion more dedicated funding for adult social care in 2018-19 and up to £3.9 billion for 2019-20.
