Former spouses or partners of the child’s parents may be eligible and will be included in these figures.</p><p> </p><p>When the policy was introduced in April 2011 the Department for Work and Pensions estimated that the credits would generate an annual exchequer cost of £10,000 per year.</p><p> </p>

This reflects the cost of the Bill in its current form. The Department will continue to work with the Local Government Association and local authorities on the development of the distribution model for the funding to determine the amount to be received by each area. The full new burdens assessment will be published once this is complete and the Bill is in its final form.</p> more like this

answer text <p>The provisions of the LGF Bill do not specify a minimum or maximum number of years for which council tax referendum principles may be set. However, all referendum principles would be subject to consultation with representatives of local government. Local authorities will still be required to set their council tax every year and make an annual determination of whether it is excessive and therefore requires approval in a referendum.</p> more like this

answer text <p>If all councils were to take up the flexibility the Government has offered in relation to the social care precept, it could raise up to £1,023 million in 2017-18 and £1,734 million in 2018-19. However the precept is only one part of the picture. Next year councils will also benefit from the one-off Adult Social Care Support Grant which we propose to distribute based on relative needs, and additional funding comes on-stream through the improved Better Care Fund which rises to £1.5 billion by 2019-20, and will be distributed based on relative need taking into account the ability to raise council tax. Over the four years of the settlement 2016-20, the Government has made available £7.6 million of dedicated funding for adult social care, meaning local government will have access to the funding it needs to increase social care spending every year in this Parliament.</p> more like this

answer text <p>A broadband USO will give households and businesses a legal right to request an affordable connection to broadband of a minimum specified speed, from a designated provider, no matter where they live or work, up to a reasonable cost threshold.</p><p> </p><p>On 16 December 2016 Ofcom published its technical advice to Government on the broadband Universal Service Obligation. We are carefully considering the report, and we will be hold a public consultation on the design of the USO once we have completed that.</p> more like this
