answer text <p>The Fair Funding Review will conduct a thorough review of what the relative needs assessment formula for local councils should be in a world in which local government spending is funded by local resources not central grant.</p><p>To help shape the Fair Funding Review, the Government has been engaging with representatives from across local government through a technical working group which is co-chaired with the Local Government Association. The Government has also published a public Call for Evidence on the key issues the Review will cover which received 209 responses.</p><p>There will be further public consultation shortly.</p> more like this

We are working closely with councils to ensure it considers all the issues carefully, which obviously takes time.
