answer text
100% of contributions to employer pension schemes, whether Net or Relief at Source pensions, will be taken into account when calculating the level of employed earnings in UC. This means that a UC claimant that contributes to either type of pension will, automatically (where employers report the information correctly), have their UC entitlement calculated on their taxable pay, after their pension contribution. This ensures fairness for all affected UC employed claimants.

If there is some discrepancy in the way in which it’s reported, DWP will manually ensure that the Relief at Source pension contribution is deducted before any UC entitlement is calculated on their employed earnings.
more like this

answer text
All forms of retail crime are unacceptable, and everyone has the right to feel safe at work.

I chair the National Retail Crime Steering Group (NRCSG) which brings together partners including the police, trade bodies – including the Association of Convenience Stores - and retailers and is overseeing a range of work to tackle retail crime. This includes the collation and dissemination of good practice and developing guidance on the use of Impact Statements for Business, which give victims of business crime the opportunity to set out the impact the crime has had on the business, including, for example, financial loss. The NRCSG also continues to work with retailers to im-prove the management and response to shop theft using a partnership ap-proach according to local circumstances.

On 21 January I announced that we will launch a call for evidence on violence and abuse towards shop workers to strengthen our understanding of this issue, including how existing legislation is being applied.

In addition, the Sentencing Council is reviewing its guidelines on assault and a consultation on a revised guideline is anticipated to commence this Summer.

answer text
Barts Health NHS Trust has been placed into the Financial Special Measures (FSM). This is a regulatory action, which uses NHS Improvement’s legal powers to require National Health Service providers to comply with its actions and/or expectations. Each NHS provider placed into FSM will undergo a rapid review, and agree a financial recovery plan. Specialist teams, led by an improvement director, will oversee intensive, accelerated action to bring about financial improvement including support from peer providers where appropriate.

Where trusts in FSM do require access to cash funding to continue the delivery of affordable, safe, quality healthcare, the Department’s interim funding regime ensures that providers in financial difficulty have timely access to cash financing to protect the continuity of services for patients. A new Financial Recovery Fund will be directly targeted at those trusts with the most financial need.
more like this
