answer	answer is ministerial correction date of answer 07/12/2018 answer text <p>The Home Office has paused the staged implementation of the alignment of subsistence rates for potential victims of modern slavery with those received by asylum seekers, which was due to start in February 2019, whilst it considers the implication of the judgment in AM and K vs SSHD.</p><p>We will work through the implications of the judgment in respect to our future approach to financial support, and will share further details as soon as we are able. answer	answer is ministerial correction date of answer 29/11/2018 answer text <p>In light of the judgment in K and AM, the Home Office has immediately reinstated the top up paid to those in the Victim Care Contract who are also receiving support from the asylum support system, so that they receive a total of £65 per week.</p><p>In consequence of the reinstatement of the top up paid to potential victims who are also receiving support from the asylum support system, the staged introduction of the scheme for further financial assistance and assistance with travel costs within the Victim Care Contract has been paused. These changes were intended to come into operation on 1 November 2018 for potential victims who were also receiving support from the asylum support system, and on 1 February 2019 for others in the Victim Care Contract.</p><p>We will work through the implications of the judgment in respect to our future approach to financial support. Inclusion and respect for minorities forms an integral part of provincial and national education programmes. Our work to promote tolerance and interfaith harmony includes: training nearly 100,000 teachers in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (KP) and Punjab in equity and inclusion; funding the Alif Ailaan education campaign which focusses on religious minorities; and engaging with education civil society organisations to champion issues of inclusion and raise these with government. Through the KP Education Support Programme (KESP) and the Punjab Education Support Programme II (PESP II), DFID has also provided technical assistance to provincial governments to revise the school curriculum and remove discriminatory content from textbooks. answer	answer is ministerial correction date of answer 01/11/2018 answer text <p>We are following closely the recent detention in Thailand of approximately 100 people, mainly from Pakistan, whom the Thai authorities consider illegal immigrants. This follows arrests of Cambodian and Vietnamese nationals at the end of August. We understand approximately 200 people who claim refugee and asylum status are currently in immigration detention, and that some of these are registered with the office of the United Nations High Commissioner for Refugees (UNHCR). We believe that the recent orders are not aimed at any specific group or groups but apply to anyone whom the Thai authorities deem an illegal visa over-stayer, as part of a general tightening of immigration enforcement. In September a senior official from the Foreign and Commonwealth Office raised our concerns about the treatment of those in immigration detention with the Thai Ministry of Foreign Affairs. Our Embassy in Bangkok repeated the UK’s concerns on the matter with the Thai National Security Advisor to the Deputy Prime Minister on 18 October.
