answer	answer is ministerial correction date of answer 09/05/2024 answer text <p>The Department has been working intensively to address issues with the supply of some epilepsy medications, and as a result we have helped to resolve issues with Tegretol 200 milligram and 400 milligram prolonged release tablets, and Tegretol 100 milligram immediate release tablets. We are aware of a shortage of Tegretol 100 milligram/5 millilitre liquid, but have been advised that resupplies are expected this month. We are continuing to work closely with manufacturers, including Novartis, to help ensure the continued supply of these medicines for patients in the United Kingdom, for example by asking suppliers to expedite deliveries.</p><p>Whilst we can’t always prevent supply issues, we have a range of well-established tools and processes to mitigate risks to patients. answer	answer is ministerial correction date of answer 09/05/2024 answer text <p>The Department has a responsibility to work with United Kingdom medicine license holders, to help ensure continuity of supply. We monitor and manage medicine supply at a national level, so that stocks remain available to meet regional and local demand. There are approximately 14,000 medicines licensed for supply in the UK, and the overwhelming majority are in good supply. The medicine supply chain is complex, global, and highly regulated, and supply issues can be caused by a range of factors. For example, suppliers can encounter manufacturing problems, difficulty accessing raw materials, and surges in demand. These are commonly cited as the drivers of recent supply issues, which have affected many countries, not just the UK.</p><p>Whilst we can’t always prevent supply issues, we have a range of well-established tools and processes to mitigate risks to patients at a national level. This is enabling participating local authorities, including Haringey, to design and deliver a blended offer to ensure all mothers can meet their breastfeeding goals. The investment is being used to increase the range of advice and support available, including peer support. Local authorities are working with the voluntary sector to deliver services.</p><p>We are also using programme investment to increase the capacity of the National Breastfeeding Helpline, managed by the Breastfeeding Network. answer	answer is ministerial correction date of answer 09/05/2024 answer text <p>As part of our move to a ‘digital by default’ border and immigration system, physical immigration documents are being replaced by fully digital eVisas (an online record of the person’s immigration status).</p><p>Customers with indefinite leave to enter or indefinite leave to remain (also known as settlement) who currently prove their rights using a physical document such as a wet-ink stamp in their passport or a vignette sticker, are encouraged to make a ‘No Time Limit’ (NTL) application.</p><p>If their NTL application is successful, they will get a BRP to prove their rights. They should carry their BRP, along with their passport, when travelling internationally. Once they have a BRP, they will be able to create a UKVI account to access their eVisa later this year. By the end of 2024, ‘No Time Limit’ applicants will receive an eVisa, rather than a BRP. Further updates on this change will be available in due course.</p><p>Customers who do not create a UKVI account will be able to use their legacy physical document such as a wet-ink stamp in their passport or a vignette sticker during 2025 when travelling. However, creating a UKVI account will bring a range of benefits to customers. This includes the fact that an eVisa cannot be lost or damaged, like a vignette, and there is no need for a potentially costly replacement. Customers who replace their legacy document with an eVisa will benefit from the automated access that public bodies, including the Department for Work &amp; Pensions and the National Health Service will securely have to their immigration status, which will streamline access to key services. answer	answer is ministerial correction date of answer 20/05/2024 answer text <p>The Government has updated the Ecodesign and Energy Labelling Regulations for a range of products, including household fridges, washing machines and televisions, to support the reparability of these products in order to increase their lifespan. They include requirements that spare parts are available for a specified minimum number of years after the placing of new products on the market, provision of information to assist with repairs and that parts can be replaced with the use of commonly available tools.</p><p> </p><p>We will continue to work with the Department for Energy Security and Net Zero on future implementation of minimum Ecodesign requirements in Great Britain as set out in the energy-related products policy framework, published in November 2021. answer	answer is ministerial correction date of answer 08/05/2024 answer text <p>This government is committed to delivering a world-leading skills system which is employer-focused, high-quality, and fit for the future.</p><p>The government is investing £3.8 billion more in further education and skills over this Parliament to ensure people can access high-quality training and education that addresses skills gaps and boosts productivity. The department are working with industry to shape our training offers, creating more routes into skilled employment in key sectors, including green jobs.</p><p>The department’s high-quality employer-designed apprenticeships, including the Level 3 Digital Device Repair Technician standard, also continue to support employers and apprentices to develop the skills needed in the green economy.</p><p>Employer-led standards have shaped the design of T Levels, which are new level 3 qualifications for 16 to 19 year olds that reflect modern industrial practice and include a 45 day industry placement. Engineering and Manufacturing T Levels in Maintenance, Installation and Repair were introduced in 2022, where students can choose to specialise in electrical and electronics.</p><p>The department’s reforms are strengthening higher and further education to help more people get good jobs and upskill and retrain throughout their lives and to improve national productivity.</p><p>The department is delivering reforms to increase uptake of high-quality higher technical education. Central to these reforms is the introduction of Higher Technical Qualifications (HTQs).</p><p>HTQs are new or existing Level 4 and 5 qualifications (such as Higher National Diploma’s, Foundation Degrees and Diploma HE) that have been approved by the Institute for Apprenticeships and Technical Education to indicate their alignment to employer-led occupational standards. These qualifications have been developed by awarding bodies in collaboration with employers and businesses so that students get the specific training, knowledge and skills required for their chosen career.</p><p>To date, 172 qualifications have been approved as HTQs across Digital, Construction and the Built Environment, Health &amp; Science, Business and Administration, Education and Early Years, Engineering &amp; Manufacturing and Legal, Finance and Accounting occupational routes, for first teach beginning between September 2022 and September 2024.</p><p>There are HTQs approved in science, technology, engineering and mathematics (STEM) related subjects, including Engineering and Manufacturing and Construction and the Built Environment that will help provide the skills needed for industries.</p><p>The department is investing up to £115 million of funding to help support the growth in higher technical provision across the country.</p> answering member constituency Thornbury and Yate answering member printed Luke Hall question first answered 08/05/2024 16:14:57 answering member 4450 label Biography information for Luke Hall

The UK's commitment is to international law, the primacy of the UN Convention on the Law of the Sea, and to freedom of navigation and overflight. The UK has continued to condemn unsafe, escalatory and dangerous actions by Chinese vessels against Philippine vessels in the South China Sea via our Ambassador in Manila, and in an FCDO Spokesperson statement.
