A technical consultation on its design closed on 10 June and we are now analysing consultation responses. However, the overall score is published within the Prisons Performance Tool, and when the prison was last assessed in 2018 it received a substantial rating indicating that at the time of the audit the framework of governance, risk management and control at HMP Leyhill was adequate and effective. This includes commitments to improve and enhance global Traceability and Transparency T&amp;T) systems that provide the basis for certification schemes and assurance of origin of forest risk commodities. Through this policy discussion FACT governments have collectively agreed, as a first step, to commission research to identify data gaps in T&amp;T systems. answer	answer is ministerial correction date of answer 20/07/2022 answer text <p>The landmark transparency provisions contained in section 54 of the Modern Slavery Act 2015 made the UK the first country in the world to require businesses with a turnover of £36m or more to report annually on the steps they have taken to prevent modern slavery, which includes child labour, in their operations and supply chains.</p><p>The provision seeks to create a race to the top by requiring businesses to be transparent and enable consumers, investors, civil society and others to scrutinise action and monitor progress. The Government has committed to strengthening the reporting requirements contained in section 54. This will require primary legislation and as announced in the Queen’s Speech, we intend to legislate in the forthcoming Modern Slavery Bill.</p><p>The Home Office’s statutory guidance to support organisations produce transparency statements recommends that statements should include the risk assessment and due diligence organisations undertook to prevent and tackle modern slavery.</p><p>In addition, the Government supports the UN Guiding Principles on Business and Human Rights, the international framework which sets out steps to guide business to do voluntary human rights due diligence to identify, prevent, mitigate and account for, impacts on human rights.</p> answering member constituency Corby answering member printed Tom Pursglove question first answered 20/07/2022 12:35:09 answering member 4369 label Biography information for Tom Pursglove

answer	answer is ministerial correction date of answer 19/07/2022 answer text <p>Section 54 of the Modern Slavery Act 2015 established the UK as the first country in the world to require businesses to report annually on steps taken to prevent modern slavery in their operations and supply chains.</p><p>The Government response to the Transparency in Supply Chains consultation, published on 22 September 2020, committed to taking forwards an ambitious package of measures to strengthen the Act’s transparency legislation, including:</p><ul><li>Extending the reporting requirement to public bodies with a budget of £36 million or more;</li><li>Mandating the specific reporting topics statements must cover;</li><li>Requiring organisations to publish their statement on the Government modern slavery statement registry.</li></ul><p>In January 2021 the Government further committed to introduce financial penalties for organisations who fail to meet their statutory obligations to publish annual modern slavery statements. These measures require primary legislation and as announced in the Queen’s Speech, we intend to legislate in the forthcoming Modern Slavery Bill. The Home Office will engage with organisations so they are aware when the new reporting requirements will come into effect, so they have time to prepare. We will also publish new guidance to support organisations to meet the new requirements.</p><p>In March 2021, the Government launched the modern slavery statement registry to radically enhance transparency by bringing together modern slavery statements on a single platform and making the data readily available for the public. answer	answer is ministerial correction date of answer 18/07/2022 answer text <p>The England Trees Action Plan sets out our long-term vision for the treescape in England, including how we will treble tree planting rates supporting the Government's manifesto target of planting 30,000 hectares of trees per year by the end of the Parliament. The £750 million Nature for Climate Fund is the main delivery vehicle, focussed on peat restoration, woodland creation and management.</p><p>The Fund is already supporting a series of grants for tree planting and management for 2022/23, including:</p><p>- The £8 million Woodland Creation Accelerator Fund which will provide financial support to local authorities to bring in specialist skills and capacity to boost tree planting and woodland creation across England.</p><p>- £500,000 this year in support of the collaborative Woodlands for Water project which will increase woodland creation along rivers to deliver biodiversity, water quality improvements and flood risk mitigation.</p><p>- More than £3.8 million available through the fourth round of the Urban Tree Challenge Fund.</p><p>- The Local Authority Treescapes Fund will allocate up to £5.4 million for the planting of up to 650,000 trees in 2022/23.</p><p> </p><p> </p><p>Additional funding will also shortly be announced for the England Woodland Creation Offer and for Woodland Creation Partnerships.
