This has included working with ACAS to develop comprehensive advice and guidance and updating the content on the GOV.UK website. The Government’s recent consultation on pregnancy and maternity discrimination also asked how effective the current approach is in helping employees and employers to understand their rights and obligations. We will be publishing the Government response in due course.</p><p>The Equality Advisory and Support Service advises and assists individuals on issues relating to equality and human rights, across England, Scotland and Wales. Where an employer fails to meet its obligations, a pregnant employee can seek redress through an employment tribunal.</p> more like this

answer text <p>The CSSF has now published two Annual Reports, 83 programme summaries for 2018/19 (in addition to the 62 programme summaries published for 2017/18) and 64 Annual Review summaries for 2017/18 (in addition to the 49 published for 2016/17.</p><p> </p><p>The CSSF is working towards meeting a “good” International Aid Transparency Initiative (IATI) rating by 2020 in line with the government’s commitment. There is a presumption to publish programme information for all CSSF programmes, and for 2018/19 83 out of our 90 programmes, had programme summaries published. The two key reasons why we may not be able to make programme documentation public are to protect national security and to protect the safety and security of beneficiaries, partners and partner governments.</p><p> </p><p> </p><p>The latest <a href="https://assets.publishing.service.gov.uk/government/uploads/system/uploads/attachment_data/file/727383/CSSF_Annual_Report_2017_to_2018.pdf" target="_blank">Annual Report</a> and programme summaries took on many of the suggestions received from stakeholders in the development sector. The Annual Report included a chapter on spend with break downs by ODA and non-ODA, department, region, theme and discretionary and non-discretionary budgets. In addition, Programme summaries broke down project spend by ODA/non-ODA splits.</p><p> </p><p>We are also working to publish more Official Development Assistance (ODA) spend information on Devtracker. We have published data for all FCO and DFID CSSF programmes for the last six quarters and are currently working on the next quarter.</p>

answer text <p>The NHS Digital Assuring Transformation dataset is used to measure the reduction in the numbers of children, young people and adults with a learning disability and/or autism who are inpatients in mental health settings in line with the national plan, ‘Building the Right Support’.</p><p> </p><p>Assuring Transformation is a live data collection, and the data at the time of publication each month is subject to change with retrospective updates and additions. Patients may be reported on long after admission, for example, due to late diagnosis, leading to changes in the baseline count. The most recent patient count for March 2015, published by NHS Digital for the end of February 2019 is 2,890. This is the baseline for planned reductions in inpatient numbers and against which progress in meeting the aims set out in ‘Building the Right Support’ is measured.</p><p> </p><p>The ambition for March 2020 is that we will reduce the rate of inpatients with a learning disability and/or autism to 18.5 adult inpatients in clinical commissioned group-commissioned beds per million adult population, and 18.5 adult inpatients in NHS England-commissioned beds per adult million population.</p><p> </p><p>This will equate to a 35% reduction from March 2015 in the total number of inpatients. The NHS Long Term Plan commits to going further, with a net 50% reduction from March 2015 in the number of people with a learning disability, autism or both in specialist inpatient hospitals, by 2023/24. For every one million adults, there will be no more than 30 people with a learning disability and/or autism cared for in an inpatient unit. For children and young people there will be no more than 12 to 15 children with a learning disability, autism or both by 2023/24.</p><p> </p>

answer text <p>In January 2019 the Department launched the Teacher Recruitment and Retention Strategy which outlines four key areas for reform and investment. These include creating the right climate for leaders to establish supportive school cultures, transforming support for early career teachers, building a career structure that remains attractive to teachers as their careers develop, and making it easier for people to become teachers.</p><p> </p><p>Designed collaboratively with the education sector, the strategy commits the Government to creating the strongest development and progression opportunities for teachers working in the schools and areas that need them most. The full strategy can be found here: <a href="https://www.gov.uk/government/publications/teacher-recruitment-and-retention-strategy" target="_blank">https://www.gov.uk/government/publications/teacher-recruitment-and-retention-strategy</a>.</p><p> </p><p>As part of this, the Department is piloting two new financial incentives which encourage individuals to teach in disadvantaged areas. The Department is offering two uplifted mathematics early career payments of £7,500 rather than £5,000 to those who complete initial teacher training (ITT) and go on to teach in 39 high-need local authorities. It is also piloting teachers’ student loan reimbursement for languages and science teachers in 25 high need local authorities.</p><p>The Department is also investing more in challenging areas to create enhanced development and progression opportunities. For example, the Department is investing £20 million in scholarships to drive take up of the reformed leadership national professional qualifications in the most challenging areas.</p><p>The Department’s investment in Teach First (TF) also supports recruitment for schools in disadvantaged areas. The department funds TF to deliver an employment based route into teaching, with trainees completing a two year leadership development programme. It is a premium route into teaching, attracting high calibre trainees into the profession. In 2016/17, 93% of TF trainees had a 2:1 or above, compared with 73% across post graduate routes. These high quality trainees are placed in schools in disadvantaged areas that might otherwise struggle to attract this quality of applicant.</p><p>The Department recognises that some schools have greater issues with recruitment and retention than others. That is why it is delivering a £30 million investment in tailored support to get more great teachers into schools in disadvantaged areas that are facing challenges with teacher supply.</p><p> </p>
