answer text <p>Spending Review 2013 set out a long-term funding envelope for delivering HS2 of £50.1bn (2011 prices), including rolling stock. We expect the project to be delivered within this funding envelope. The project is being taken forward on the basis of being funded by central government. Spending Review 2013 demonstrated the intention of Government to continue investing to enhance and develop our other key transport networks, while also taking forward HS2.</p> more like this

answer text <p /> <p>Decisions about legal aid funding in civil cases are a matter for the Director of Legal Aid Casework and his staff at the Legal Aid Agency (LAA), which is responsible for administering the legal aid scheme. Ministers cannot intervene in decisions made about the grant of funding in individual cases.</p><p> </p><p>The LAA refused an application for funding from the High Speed 2 Action Alliance (“HS2AA”) in relation to the Bill procedure, as it did not meet the statutory criteria to receive public funding in respect of either means or exceptional funding. A review of the refusal of the application was sought and the LAA has upheld its decision.</p> more like this

answer text <p>We are providing extensive support to those business owners with a qualifying interest, who are affected by Phase 1 of HS2. This support includes Statutory Blight, Express Purchase, the Cash Offer and Voluntary Purchase Schemes (if businesses owners with a qualifying interest lie within the Rural Support Zone), and Home Owner Payments (if businesses owners with a qualifying interest lie within the Home Owner Payment zones). Businesses would also be eligible to claim under Section 10 of the Land Compensation Act 1965 in certain circumstances. The Department has also recently announced a Community and Business Fund worth £30million that will benefit businesses, amongst others.</p><p> </p><p> </p> more like this
