answer	answer is ministerial correction date of answer 31/10/2017 answer text <p>Pursuant to the answer of 14 September I can confirm that the Department has appointed Chris Jones, Director for Justice Security and Migration (JSM) as the Department Chief Scientific Adviser (CSA).</p><p>The role of a CSA within the Department has been very carefully considered. We are a unique, time-limited department with a coordinating function covering the full range of government business. We are reliant upon other Government departments to lead on policy development, including incorporating their own specialist scientific advice where necessary. Around 12,000 households that received a payment of Universal Credit in June 2017 were entitled to this additional support – 3% of all households in payment. Further information on these statistics can be found at the following link:</p><p><a href="https://www.gov.uk/government/collections/universal-credit-statistics" target="_blank">https://www.gov.uk/government/collections/universal-credit-statistics</a></p><p> </p><p>In response to requests for information on Universal Credit we have consulted users on the expansion of Universal Credit statistics.
