answer	answer is ministerial correction date of answer 14/02/2019 answer text <p>The 1:200 limit generally applies to the whole of a dispersal area and has not historically been applied to individual wards. Instead the Home Office works on an individual basis with Local Authorities to address concerns around population clusters in specific wards.</p><p>In addition the COMPASS Providers must consult Local Authorities on all new properties procured for use on the COMPASS Contracts.</p><p>Where there is clear evidence that properties are not suitable for use in the asylum dispersal scheme, or evidence that a cluster in a specific ward is no longer sustainable then the Home Office would take action to address this, including where necessary halting procurement or dispersal.</p> answering member constituency Romsey and Southampton North answering member printed Caroline Nokes question first answered 14/02/2019 14:57:59 answering member 4048 label Biography information for Caroline Nokes

answer	answer is ministerial correction date of answer 14/02/2019 answer text <p>The Home Office has no plans to use the powers described under section 100 and section 101 of the Immigration and Asylum Act 1999 that require a (a) local authority and (b) registered social landlord to assist or designate part of their housing for the purposes of asylum accommodation.</p><p>The Home Office is working closely with a wide range of local authorities to increase the number of areas across the UK that agree to accommodate and support people seeking protection. We take a coordinated approach to the delivery of the various resettlement and asylum schemes and engage through the Regional Strategic Migration Partnerships to consider the impact on communities and local services so that adjustments can be made where appropriate. answer	answer is ministerial correction date of answer 12/02/2019 answer text <p>The introduction of Aspen (2016) pre-dates the requirement for a data pro-tection impact assessment (DPIA), which was introduced as part of the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR). Appropriate legal advice was nevertheless obtained prior to the scheme being launched. answer	answer is ministerial correction date of answer 21/02/2019 answer text <p>Where evidence comes to light that would suggest a supported asylum ap-plicant has access to alternative accommodation and support, we would invite the applicant to give an account of their activity.</p><p>Evidence can come from a number of sources, including Aspen usage data. Suspension and any subsequent discontinuation of support due to a breach of conditions carries a right of appeal.
