answer	answer is ministerial correction date of answer 19/03/2018 answer text <p>I announced the police funding settlement for 2018-19 which will see an additional £450m invested in the policing system, around £270m direct to PCCs. This strong and comprehensive settlement combined with the current levels of reserves will enable the vast majority of PCCs to protect or improve frontline policing.</p><p>As at March 2017, PCCs held over £1.6bn of public money in usable resource reserves, significantly more than in 2010-11. Reserves are an important tool for police leaders, but this is taxpayers’ money and we need real transparency about how it is being used. The additional £1.4 billion the Government is making available for children and young people’s mental health services up to 2020, includes £150 million specifically targeted at improving support for young people with eating disorders. The green paper ‘Transforming children and young people’s mental health provision’ set out proposals for new mental health support teams to provide further trained and clinically-supervised support to young people in school.</p><p> </p><p>The Government has also funded the provision of information and advice to schools. MindEd (<a href="https://www.minded.org.uk/" target="_blank">https://www.minded.org.uk/</a>) is a free online portal that provides training for all adults working with children and young people about mental health problems. It includes specific information on eating disorders. The Personal, Social, Health and Economic (PSHE) Association has also produced advice on how to teach pupils in all four Key Stages about mental health. This includes specific advice on age-appropriate teaching about body image and eating disorders in secondary school.</p><p> </p><p>The Government has sought views, via a thorough engagement process, on the content of Relationships Education and Relationships and Sex Education, and on the status of PSHE – including on issues such as body image and eating disorders. answer	answer is ministerial correction date of answer 14/03/2018 answer text <p>Although famine has not been formally declared in 2018, South Sudan continues to experience record levels of food insecurity as a result of the ongoing conflict. 5.3 million people, nearly half the population, are estimated to be severely food insecure - a 40% increase from the same time last year. 1 million people are on the edge of famine.</p><p>To tackle food insecurity and prevent famine, UK Aid is working with partners like the World Food Programme (WFP) and the UN Humanitarian Air Service to get food and nutrition supplies to key locations across the country – by truck, helicopter or barge. With support from the UK and other international donors, so far this year WFP has reached almost 1.6 million people with a total of 18,000 metric tonnes of food. answer	answer is ministerial correction date of answer 14/03/2018 answer text <p>DFID supports the Government’s Preventing Sexual Violence in Conflict Initiative (PSVI) through our research programme, specific projects to address violence against women and girls, and through the UK’s Humanitarian Reform Policy.</p><p> </p><p>DFID’s flagship ‘What Works to Prevent Violence’ research programme focuses on addressing the root causes of violence against women and girls in conflict and humanitarian settings, including sexual violence. The focus of this research is on understanding how to stop violence before it starts, with evidence used across UK government programmes to prevent and respond to sexual violence in conflict.</p><p> </p><p>DFID country offices are at the forefront of support to help reduce and mitigate gender based violence, including sexual violence in fragile and conflict affected states.</p><p> </p><p>At the World Humanitarian Summit (2016) the UK pushed forward the implementation of global commitments to protect women and girls in emergencies to deliver specific measures to reduce their vulnerability to violence and exploitation. answer	answer is ministerial correction date of answer 14/03/2018 answer text <p>Following a diphtheria outbreak in the Rohingya refugee camps in Bangladesh the UK Emergency Medical Team (EMT) was deployed for six weeks from late December 2017 to early February 2018.</p><p> </p><p>A 40 strong team of medical professionals, including doctors, nurses and paramedics helped more than 3,000 Rohingya. Almost 500 people were treated for diphtheria and if not for British help, many could have died. This will include an assessment of codes of conduct, how organisations identify and respond to incidents, and how risk management places safeguarding and beneficiaries at its core.
