answer text <p>While the Department has not commissioned research, we continue to work with the Department for Business, Innovation and Skills, key partners and other stakeholders to ensure our publicly stated position is respected.</p><p> </p><p> </p><p> </p><p>We are aware of concerns about the European Union–United States Transatlantic Trade and Investment Partnership (TTIP) currently being negotiated which are misplaced and inaccurate.</p><p> </p><p> </p><p> </p><p>What we can be absolutely clear on is that this Government will not allow TTIP</p><p> </p><p>negotiations to harm the National Health Service, and any assertion that the agreement will undermine the NHS is both irresponsible and false. Our position is supported by statements from both the European and US negotiators.</p><p> </p> more like this

answer text <p>All National Health Service trusts and foundation trusts in England are members of the NHS Litigation Authority’s Property Expenses Scheme (PES). PES covers losses for material damage to buildings and contents from a variety of causes, including fire, theft and water damage, valued at up to £1 million per claim.</p><p> </p><p> </p><p> </p><p>There is a general prohibition on NHS trusts entering into insurance arrangements with commercial insurers therefore they will normally self-insure any losses above the £1 million limit.</p><p> </p><p> </p><p> </p><p>NHS foundation trusts may enter into insurance arrangements with commercial insurers for any risks not covered by the scheme, and will consider whether to do so in accordance with their individual standing financial instructions.</p><p> </p> more like this

answer text <p>Whilst the NHS Trust Development Authority contributes to costs of mergers and acquisitions, it is not able to disaggregate the spend into different components. Information in relation to the specific competition aspects of this spend is therefore not available.</p><p> </p><p>The NHS Trust Development Authority does not record requests for support from trusts. All such requests are directed to Monitor or the Competition and Markets Authority for advice, as the expert bodies on mergers and acquisitions.</p><p> </p> more like this
