answer	answer is ministerial correction date of answer 28/04/2020 answer text <p>Waste water treatment in the UK is largely determined by the requirements of the Urban Waste Water Treatment (England and Wales) Regulations 1994. The Regulations have the objective of protecting the environment from the adverse effects of waste water by setting minimum treatment levels supplemented by additional requirements to protect more sensitive receiving waters. The Regulations set the treatment standards to be achieved but do not prescribe the technology to be used to meet these standards. In recognising this, we have put in place a number of emergency measures to support these organisations during this time.</p><p><strong> </strong></p><p>The government’s Coronavirus Business Interruption Loan Scheme (CBILS) has been made available to social enterprises and co-operatives. This scheme will provide lenders with a government-backed guarantee of 80% on each loan, ensuring eligible social enterprises and co-operatives gain access to crucial finance with no upfront costs and lower initial repayments. Big Society Capital has established and capitalised a Resilience and Recovery Loan Fund which aims to improve access to CBILS for social enterprises. The initiative has been enabled by the Department for Digital, Culture, Media and Sport (DCMS) accelerating the release of previously committed dormant bank accounts money.</p><p><strong> </strong></p><p>The Coronavirus Job Retention Scheme is also available to social enterprises and co-operatives. This scheme allows employers to claim for a cash grant of up to 80% of a furloughed employee's wages. Many organisations are already accessing this support measure.</p><p><strong> </strong></p><p>Additionally, the government announced a £750 million support package earlier this month for charities. A number of social enterprises that are delivering vital work during the coronavirus outbreak will be eligible to apply for this support package.</p><p><strong> </strong></p><p>Over the coming weeks and months, the government will monitor and evaluate the support that has been provided to social enterprises and co-operatives, and it continues to consider what else can be done. Long-lasting or overly restrictive trade measures that inhibit free trade will hit the most vulnerable countries hardest.</p><p>The government is working to keep supply chains open to ensure essential goods and services reach consumers and vulnerable livelihoods are protected. answer	answer is ministerial correction date of answer 27/04/2020 answer text <p>DFID will deliver a comprehensive response to the COVID-19 pandemic in developing countries, through programming to support the global health and economic response, funding for further vaccine development, preparation for the recovery phase and leadership within the international community.</p><p>We have agreed that part of this funding will go to NGOs, including UK charities that are using British expertise and experience to deal with COVID-19, the majority of which will be allocated through the Rapid Response Facility. We have also committed funding to the International Committee of the Red Cross and British Red Cross to reach populations in some of the hardest to reach areas, including those affected by conflict. answer	answer is ministerial correction date of answer 27/04/2020 answer text <p>Strong and resilient national health systems are vital to global health security and helping to protect the world from infectious diseases, including COVID-19. The UK has, so far, pledged £744 million of UK aid to help end the COVID-19 pandemic as quickly as possible. This includes a package of £200 million to support UK charities and international organisations to help reduce mass infections in developing countries, which often lack the healthcare systems to track and prevent the virus from spreading.</p><p>Through our multilateral partnerships with organisations like the WHO and the World Bank, and our regional and national programmes, the UK supports developing countries to make their domestic health systems stronger and more resilient. In turn this enables them to prevent, detect and respond to health threats, such as COVID-19.
