We will also seek to negotiate a mobility framework with the EU that supports businesses to provide services, and allows people to travel freely without a visa for tourism and temporary business activity. The findings are currently being reviewed and will be published in due course. The results will be used to assess the potential environmental benefits of using paraffinic diesel in road transport. answer	answer is ministerial correction date of answer 18/11/2016 answer text <p>The Government recognises concerns about the use of noisy fireworks, particularly the potential distress caused to pets, livestock and the public, especially those with PTSD. That is why there is significant regulation in place covering their supply, storage, possession and use.</p><p>For example, retailers are restricted to selling fireworks for limited periods around the four traditional occasions of November 5<sup>th</sup>, Diwali, New Year’s Eve and Chinese New Year, unless they have a valid licence specifically allowing all year round sales. There are curfews in place which limit the hours fireworks can be used. Furthermore, there is maximum noise level of 120 decibels on fireworks sold to the public, and local authorities have powers to deal with excessive firework noise.</p><p>The Government continues to focus on the safe use of fireworks and reducing nuisance by encouraging industry, retailers and others to promote responsible use through guidance and public education. For example, the Health and Safety Executive publishes specific guidance on organising fireworks displays safely and responsibly.</p><p>We urge those using fireworks to be considerate to their neighbours and give sufficient notice of firework use, particularly where they are proposing to let off fireworks in the vicinity of animals, especially livestock, where they should notify owners of livestock nearby of their plans.</p><p>The Government has no plans to extend legislation in this area at present.</p> answering member constituency Stourbridge answering member printed Margot James question first answered 18/11/2016 14:54:54 answering member 4115 label Biography information for Margot James

answer	answer is ministerial correction date of answer 21/07/2016 answer text <p>The Department for Transport assesses a number of different fuels in terms of a range of environmental impacts including air quality and greenhouse gas emissions. A number of initiatives are underway to encourage cleaner, lower carbon fuels.</p><p> </p><p>The Renewable Transport Fuel Obligation was amended to increase rewards for suppliers of biopropane from April 2015, following a consultation which considered the potential benefits of alternative fuels, including biopropane, in delivering greenhouse gas savings. Biopropane is the term commonly used to describe liquid petroleum gas (LPG) derived from production processes that use biomass as the feedstock.</p><p> </p><p>The Department for Transport and Low Carbon Vehicle Partnership also established a Transport Energy Task Force which considered the potential of Liquefied Petroleum Gas (LPG) in meeting our greenhouse gas reduction targets, alongside other alternative fuels, last year.</p><p> </p><p>While no formal assessment of the air quality impact of LPG has been made, DfT and Defra officials met with representatives of the LPG industry during the consultation on the UK Air Quality Plans in 2015. Industry data shows that retrofitting older diesel cars and vans to run on LPG can reduce emissions of NOx (oxides of nitrogen) and particulate matter whilst producing CO2 (carbon dioxide) emissions between those of equivalent diesel and petrol engines.</p><p> </p><p>Birmingham City Council were awarded £500,000 to enable the conversion of older black cabs from diesel to LPG as part of the 2014 Clean Vehicle Technology Fund (CVTF) grant scheme. As part of this funding, emissions will be measured before and after conversion.</p><p> </p><p>As part of the Department’s Heavy Goods Vehicle emissions testing programme, the Low Carbon Vehicle Partnership is testing a dual fuel (diesel / LPG) retrofit conversion to a Euro VI truck, as well as gas and diesel comparators. Vehicle tests are currently underway and we expect to publish the results later this year. This involves developing services that can help people with a range of drug problems; which can also respond to emerging problems, such as new psychoactive substances.</p><p> </p><p>Public Health England works with local authorities to support them in commissioning alcohol and drug services, providing guidance and materials, bespoke data, value for money tools, topical briefings and advice on good practice. People granted refugee status are given access to the labour market and to benefits; in addition, an integration loan is available to help new refugees to integrate into UK society by offering financial support towards housing costs, employment and training.</p><p>Since 2010 we have provided over £50 million to support integration projects and activities which treat people as equal British citizens and build stronger communities where everyone can live and work successfully alongside each other.</p><p>We are working with those local authorities who have agreed to receive Syrian refugees to build systems that can meet the needs of more people more quickly whilst minimising the impact on local communities. At the Spending Review the Government committed £129 million to assist with local authority costs over years 2-5 of the scheme.
