answer text <p>The latest available prison performance ratings data cover the period 2016/17 and are available at <a href="https://www.gov.uk/government/statistics/prison-annual-performance-ratings-2016-to-2017" target="_blank">https://www.gov.uk/government/statistics/prison-annual-performance-ratings-2016-to-2017</a></p><p> </p><p>40 prisons were rated as having overall performance of concern in 2016/17. There were the equivalent of 62 full time prison officers from these prisons working on Detached Duty at other public-sector prisons during January, 49 in February and 61 in March 2018.</p><p> </p><p>There were the equivalent of 16 full time prison officers from prisons in special measures working on Detached Duty at other public-sector prisons during January, 10 in February and 7 in March 2018.</p><p> </p><p>Detached Duty is one of the sensible and proportionate measures we take to ensure we run safe and decent regimes in prisons and respond appropriately to any operational issues that arise.</p>

answer text <p>HM Courts &amp; Tribunals Service does not separately record the information on the average waiting times for an employment tribunal hearing held at other tribunal venues.</p><p> </p><p>Employment tribunal cases would only be heard at other locations or tribunal hearing venues on an ad hoc basis, this could be because of a reasonable adjustment (used when putting something in place to remove barriers so our customers with disabilities have equal access to our information and services) or on direction of a judge.</p> more like this

answer text <p>To transform our Justice System as set out in the Lord Chancellor and the Lord Chief Justice’s joint statement, an extensive programme of change activity is underway and on track to complete delivery by March 2022, and benefits will have been fully embedded by March 2023.</p><p> </p><p>Reform will utilise digital services to make justice more accessible and straightforward; simplify and modernise processes to avoid unnecessary hearings, redundant paper forms, and duplication; and make more effective use of courts and judiciary for difficult and sensitive issues while handling routine issues out of court wherever possible. HMCTS expects the reformed, modernised and upgraded justice system to work better for all those involved, use court time more proportionately, and make services more accessible to users.</p> more like this

answer text <p>I refer the honourable member to the answer to PQs 13<ins class="ministerial">7</ins>608-10, given on 27 April 2018.</p><p> </p><p>As we focus on making our jails safe and decent places to support rehabilitation between the end of October 2016 and the end of March 2018 we have increased prison officer numbers by 3,111, which is already significantly over our target of 2,500 additional staff by the end of December 2018. These recruitment efforts form part of a wider drive to ensure that all prisons are fully staffed so that they can deliver safe and decent regimes.</p> more like this
