answer text <p>Education provided by further education (FE) colleges is either outside the scope of VAT or classified as ‘exempt’ under the VAT Act 1994. This means that FE colleges do not apply VAT on the education they provide to their pupils.</p><p> </p><p>Under European law, it is not possible to recover tax incurred on activities outside the scope of VAT or in the course of making ‘exempt’ supplies. Our future relationship with the EU, including on VAT, is subject to negotiation and any future decisions on VAT will continue to be taken in line with the normal Budget process.</p> more like this

answer text <p>The table below shows the number of Group 1 (car/motorcycle) and Group 2 (bus/lorry) driving licences that have been revoked or applications for a driving licence refused, for poor vision in each year since 2010. Some of these may have been based on a driver’s own declaration regarding the standard of their vision.</p><p> </p><p>Some Group 2 drivers may have been revoked or refused entitlement to drive both Group 1 and Group 2 vehicles. Therefore, there may be some duplication in the figures. Also, the medical standards for driving Group 2 vehicles are more stringent than those for Group 1. Only accidents where the police attended the scene and reported at least one contributory factor are included. A total of 73% of accidents reported to the police in 2016 met these criteria.</p><p> </p><p>Contributory factors (CFs for short) provide some insight into why and how road accidents occur. They are designed to give the key actions and failures that led directly to the actual impact to aid investigation of how accidents might be prevented. When police officers attend the scene of an accident, they are able to select up to six factors they believe contributed to the accident (for each vehicle and casualty involved). Please note that this does not assign blame for the accident to any specific road user, but gives an indication of which factors the attending officer thought contributed to the accident. Officers do not need to carry out a full investigation of the incident before allocating CFs; they usually use professional judgement about what they can see at the scene.</p>

answer text <p>The Home Office has not made an estimate of the number of crossbows sold in England, Wales, Scotland or Northern Ireland in the last 10 years.</p><p>Crossbows are subject to statutory controls by virtue of the Crossbows Act 1987, which makes it an offence to sell, let or hire a crossbow, or part of a crossbow, to a person under the age of 18 years. This applies to those crossbows with a draw weight of 1.4 kilograms or greater. answer text <p>The Home Office Homicide Index holds information on the number of homicide victims killed by use of a crossbow in England and Wales. There were four homicides in England in the last ten years where the weapon has been identified as a crossbow; two in 2010/11, one in 2013/14 and one in 2014/15. Additionally, there was one homicide victim killed in Wales by use of a crossbow in 2014/15. The Home Office does not hold information on the number of injuries caused by crossbows nor does it have separate figures for Scotland and Northern Ireland.</p> more like this

NHS England tracks mental health expenditure by CCGs against the Mental Health Investment Standard, which requires an increase in spend on mental health by at least the amount of overall recurrent baseline allocations. Currently 85% of CCGs are meeting the Mental Health Investment Standard and recent NHS Planning Guidance for 2018/19 requires all CCGs to meet the standard.</p>
