<p>The Government welcomed the Law Commission’s report on Employment Law Hearing Structures
and is keeping the recommendations made, under consideration. While the time limit
for bringing most claims is three months, tribunals have the discretion to provide
extensions. We believe that the current approach, taken on a case by basis, is the
most proportionate at this time</p><p><br> The Government continues to look closely
at extending the time limit for bringing Equality Act 2010 based cases to the employment
tribunal and are looking to assess the impact of such a change on all aspects of the
Employment Tribunal System. Any decision will need to take account of the effect on
the wider justice system and on the Advisory, Conciliation and Arbitration Service
(Acas).</p>
