We have launched a public consultation on our plans to ban Conversion Therapy; we are digitising the Gender Recognition Certificate application process, having already reduced the fee, and are improving healthcare for trans people. In December 2021, we published the HIV Action Plan, whilst also announcing the end of the ban on HIV+ people joining the UK armed forces. This month we have announced an independent review into the impact of the pre-2000 ban on homosexuality in the armed forces on LGBT veterans, as part of the Veterans’ Strategy Action Plan.</p><p>We have appointed Iain Anderson as LGBT Business Champion, and the Prime Minister has appointed Lord Herbert of South Downs as Special Envoy on LGBT rights, with both an international and domestic focus. The UK will also be hosting its first global LGBT conference in June, <em>Safe To Be Me</em>, which will bring together government representatives, businesses, civil society and international parliamentarians to address the safety of LGBT people at home and abroad.</p><p>The UK Government regularly updates GOV.UK to improve the experience and accessibility of users. answer	answer is ministerial correction date of answer 27/01/2022 answer text <p>The Afghan Citizens Resettlement Scheme (ACRS) will prioritise those who have assisted UK efforts in Afghanistan and stood up for UK values such as democracy, women’s rights, freedom of speech and rule of law; and vulnerable people such as women and girls at risk, and members of minority groups (including ethnic / religious minorities and LGBT+).</p><p>Those eligible for the scheme include individuals evacuated during Operation Pitting. Due to the success of the evacuation in unprecedented circumstances, there are around 6,500 people in the UK who have been brought to safety during and after the evacuation who are eligible for the ACRS. We’re considering how we use MPs correspondence to inform the referral process, as set out in the Oral statement.</p><p>There will not be an application process for the ACRS. The Government’s team of Equality Ministers are leading on commitments such as banning so-called conversion therapy, digitising the gender recognition process and delivering Safe to Be Me: A Global Equality Conference, later this year. The Government is drawing on the services and advice of Lord Herbert of South Downs as the Special Envoy on LGBT rights and Chair of the Conference, Iain Anderson as LGBT Business Champion, as well as Dr Michael Brady as the National LGBT Health Adviser. answer	answer is ministerial correction date of answer 10/01/2022 answer text <p>The Department commissions 47 sexual assault referral centres (SARCs) through NHS England and NHS Improvement, which provide an integrated response to sexual violence and rape. These are geographically split across counties in England to enable access to a SARC service closer to home.</p><p>The provision of services is monitored regularly by regional SARC commissioners in partnership with local police and police crime commissioners. Each commissioner will perform regular assessments of its population to ensure services are commissioned to meet local needs. answer	answer is ministerial correction date of answer 11/01/2022 answer text <p>We ran a national Call for Evidence on Tackling Violence Against Women and Girls which received an unprecedented 180,000 responses and highlighted numerous issues that the Government is determined to address. This evidence informed our Tackling Violence Against Women and Girls Strategy, which we published in July 2021, and will later inform the forthcoming publication of a complementary Domestic Abuse Strategy, in the coming months. We are committing to radically changing how we end violence against women and girls with a whole system approach focusing on: prioritising prevention, supporting survivors, pursuing perpetrators, underpinned by a stronger system.</p><p> </p><p>Among the many commitments in that Strategy, NHS England and NHS Improvement committed to undertake a communications campaign to raise awareness of the support available to victims and survivors through Sexual Assault Referral Centres. Where appropriate, NHS 111 call handlers are trained to signpost people to their local Sexual Assault Referral Centre. It is unacceptable for anyone to feel unsafe while practicing their religion and we continue to take a zero-tolerance approach to anti-Muslim hatred. answer	answer is ministerial correction date of answer 03/12/2021 answer text <p>In light of the COVID-19 pandemic, the Department commissioned the Household Resilience Study – a follow-up to the English Housing Survey, conducted in 3 waves between June 2020 and May 2021. The research collected includes affordability data from owner-occupiers, mortgagors, and both privately and socially renting tenants.</p><p>The study explored numerous measures of affordability, such as proportion of income spent on rent or mortgage, and ease in keeping up with heating costs or other household bills. The data received through the Household Resilience Study includes information on keyworker status and can be broken down by income levels.</p><p>Findings from the Household Resilience Study, alongside regular engagement with stakeholders, are used to inform policy decisions across the department, including relevant areas of post-pandemic recovery planning.
