The Department has published a comprehensive range of guidance to support schools during this time. This includes<a href="https://www.gov.uk/government/publications/coronavirus-covid-19-online-education-resources" target="_blank"> a list of quality resources</a>, and<a href="https://www.gov.uk/guidance/adapting-teaching-practice-for-remote-education" target="_blank"> case studies of remote education practice</a>.</p><p> </p><p>The<a href="https://www.thenational.academy/" target="_blank"> Oak National Academy</a> was launched on Monday 20 April. It is a new enterprise that has been created by 100 teachers from schools across England. It is providing at least 180 video lessons for free each week, across a broad range of subjects, for every year group from Reception through to Year 10. The BBC has developed a comprehensive new education package, including wellbeing content, available on TV, via the red button and iPlayer and online at<a href="https://www.bbc.co.uk/bitesize" target="_blank"> BBC Bitesize</a>.</p><p> </p><p>Schools can also apply for Government-funded support to access one of two free-to-use digital education platforms to enable online teaching such as, G Suite for Education or Office 365 Education.</p><p> </p><p>To ensure all children benefit from these resources, we are providing laptops, tablets and 4G wireless routers to vulnerable and disadvantaged children and young people that do not already have a digital device or internet access. As of the end of June, over 202,000 laptops and tablets and over 47,000 4G wireless routers have been delivered to local authorities and academy trusts for distribution to the children and young people that need them.</p><p> </p><p>The Department has launched a service to provide children and young people free access to BT Wi-Fi hotspots. 10,000 families will initially be able to access the scheme. This offer is currently being piloted and will be rolled out across England in the coming months. We are currently working with BT to expand this offer to allow more children to access the internet through their network of BT Wi-Fi hotspots.</p><p> </p><p>The Department has launched a service to provide children and young people free access to BT Wi-Fi hotspots. 10,000 families will initially be able to access the scheme. answer	answer is ministerial correction date of answer 06/07/2020 answer text <p>The Government understands the importance of local growth funding to places and people and is committed to creating the UK Shared Prosperity Fund to succeed European structural funds, providing vital investment in local economies, cutting out bureaucracy and levelling up those parts of the UK whose economies are furthest behind. <br> <br> Furthermore, the 2019 Conservative Manifesto committed to targeting the UK Shared Prosperity Fund at the UK’s specific needs, at a minimum matching the size of European structural funds in each nation and ensuring that £500 million of the Fund is used to give disadvantaged people the skills they need to make a success of life. <br> <br> As we approach the transition from the European Social Fund to the UK Shared Prosperity Fund, we will continue to engage with partners, in order to aid policy development. Under the terms of the European Union (Withdrawal Agreement) Act 2020, the UK continues to participate in EU annual budgets under the current Multiannual Financial Framework (2014-2020 MFF). We became co-chair of the Equal Rights Coalition (ERC) in June last year, in partnership with Argentina. The ERC is a group of 42 like-minded States that share best practice and promote LGBT equality globally. Our plan is to deliver an ERC Strategy and Action Plan to re-energise the ERC. I attended international meetings on the Sahel earlier this month and in Mauritania in February. I stressed the importance of improving governance and respecting human rights.</p><p>As part of our efforts, the UK is deploying 250 peacekeeping troops to Mali and has 3 RAF Chinook helicopters deployed to a Counter Terrorism operation. We are also one of largest humanitarian donors to the Sahel. The Government took steps during the election to protect the safety and security of our democratic processes. The Government worked with a large number of organisations to do this, and would like to thank them for their continued support and work in this area.</p><p>As you would expect, the Government examines all aspects of the electoral process, and that work is ongoing.
