answer text <p>The number of flight crew licence applications received by the Civil Aviation Authority (CAA) has grown by more than 25 per cent this year. The CAA has responded by recruiting and training more licensing officers, increasing overtime, and pre-screening applications to ensure all the required information has been received. The CAA is also working with key stakeholders to identify improvements which will help to simplify and speed up the application process for both commercial and private pilots.</p> more like this

answer text <p>On Friday 26 October, the Government introduced The Healthcare (International Arrangements) Bill which will provide the Government with the powers that are needed to fund and effectively implement arrangements for United Kingdom nationals to obtain healthcare abroad after the UK exits the European Union.</p><p> </p><p>The Bill is part of the Government’s preparations for EU Exit and will ensure that whatever the outcome of EU Exit, we can take the necessary steps to continue reciprocal healthcare arrangements or otherwise support UK residents to obtain healthcare when they move to or visit the EU.</p> more like this

answer text <p>​We are very concerned by the reports of the disappearance of Jamal Khashoggi on 9 October. The Foreign Secretary and I conveyed this message to the Saudi Ambassador to the UK. The Foreign Secretary also spoke to the Saudi Foreign Minister on 9 October and met the Turkish Foreign Minister on 15 October. A joint statement from the Foreign Secretary and his French and German counterparts was issued on 14 October stating their grave concerns and calling for a complete and detailed investigation.</p> more like this

answer text <p>The number of departmental officials who work on either National Minimum Wage policy or on enforcement policy has been approximately ten full time equivalent (FTE) members of staff in each of the years from 2010-11 to 2017-18. This an estimated figure based on the average across the calendar year.</p><p> </p><p>Furthermore, we are committed to cracking down on employers who break the National Minimum Wage law. answer text <p>The Government has noted the importance of continued collaboration with European partners in the 2017 policy paper ‘Collaboration on Science and Innovation: A Future Partnership Paper’. The paper expressly cited European Reference Networks (ERNs) as an example of collaboration that the United Kingdom and European Union should discuss in the negotiations, given the mutual benefits.</p><p> </p><p>The Government published the UK Strategy for Rare Diseases in 2013, which set out a vision to 2020 covering five areas including patient empowerment, identification and prevention of rare diseases, diagnosis and early intervention, coordination of care and the role of research. ERNs are a key way to deliver the five themes of the UK Strategy for Rare Diseases Strategy. The UK participates in 23 of 24 ERNs across a total of 113 separate Healthcare Providers in England and the devolved nations, including in ERN-EURACAN.</p> more like this
