answer	answer is ministerial correction date of answer 07/12/2017 answer text <p>We take hate crime in all its forms very seriously: the United Kingdom has some of the strongest hate crime legislation in the world. The statistical breakdowns provided by Tell MAMA give an invaluable insight into the extent and nature of the deplorable abuse which Muslim citizens are subjected to on account of their belief or appearance. It is notable that most reported offline incidents of anti-Muslim hatred involve male perpetrators and that the majority of victims of offline incidents are women, most of whom are visibly Muslim. The Government has committed funding of £100 million to counter violence against women and girls with prosecutions and convictions for such offences rising 63 per cent since 2007-08.</p><p>This Government has done more than any other to tackle anti-Muslim hatred. We set up the first ever cross-government working group on anti-Muslim hatred. We have funded Tell MAMA, the first service to record incidents, support victims and raise community awareness of how to report anti-Muslim hate incidents. We are also disaggregating religious hate crime data held by the police to reveal the true scale and nature of the problem. answer	answer is ministerial correction date of answer 12/12/2017 answer text <p>At Budget, the Government announced the outcome of the Patient Capital Review, setting out an action plan to unlock £20 billion of new investment to finance growth in innovative firms. The Government will set-up a new £2.5 billion subsidiary of the British Business Bank, expand tax-relief schemes and remove regulatory barriers to encourage long-term investment from pension funds. The subsidiary of the British Business Bank will operate on a commercial basis and will be set up with the intention to float or sell it once it has a sufficient track record. This action plan will benefit a range of sectors including the life sciences sector to commercialize research, develop new technologies and support other forms of innovation.</p><p> </p><p>As announced on 6 December, the Government and the life sciences sector have agreed a transformative billion-pound Sector Deal worth close to £2.5bn of investment in innovative new treatments and medical technologies that will improve patient lives and drive economic growth in the UK. The Deal commits an expected £1.5bn from private and charitable sectors. The Life Sciences Sector Deal Implementation Board will agree implementation plans for each section of the Deal including agreed success metrics. answer	answer is ministerial correction date of answer 11/12/2017 answer text <p>There are already record numbers of disadvantaged English 18 years olds benefitting from full-time higher education, and universities expect to spend over £860 million in 2018/19 on measures to improve the access and success of disadvantaged students, up from £404 million in 2009, through their access agreements.</p><p> </p><p>The Higher Education and Research Act includes a transparency duty requiring all universities to publish applications, offers, acceptance and retention rates broken down by gender, ethnicity and social economic background. We are doubling the free childcare available to working parents of 3&amp;4 year olds to 30 hours a week, saving them around £5,000 a year per child. In 2019/20 we will be spending around £6bn on childcare support – a record amount.</p><p>Childcare vouchers are only offered by a minority of employers and are unavailable to self-employed parents, or those who do not earn enough to participate in salary sacrifice schemes.</p><p> </p><p>Tax-Free Childcare is designed to be fairer and better targeted. It will have a far wider reach than vouchers and is expected to benefit over 1 million working households. The minimum income level of just over £120 a week will support those parents earning the National Living Wage who are unable to use childcare vouchers. This was as part of the preferred route announcement for the new Lower Thames Crossing (LTC) which will help reduce demand at the Dartford Crossing, while also improving links to London and the south coast.</p><p> </p><p>Alongside this, a Dartford - Thurrock study will identify ideas to reduce congestion that could be delivered in advance of the construction of the LTC.
