answer	answer is ministerial correction date of answer 19/03/2024 answer text <p>According to Ofcom’s December 2023 Connected Nations report, over 93% of premises in South Holland and The Deepings have access to a superfast connection, with 66% having access to a gigabit-capable connection. Only 2% of premises are unable to access a decent broadband connection and may be able to get an improved connection through the broadband USO.</p><p> </p><p>The broadband USO gives individuals the right to request a decent broadband connection under the condition that their current connection falls below 10Mbps download and 1Mbps upload; the cost of accessing a decent broadband connection is higher than £54 per month; and they are not due to be connected by an existing government scheme within the next 12 months.</p><p> </p><p>Consumers whose connections would cost more than the reasonable cost threshold of £3,400 can choose to pay the excess cost (with crowdfunding options available).</p><p> </p><p>The Government is rolling out Project Gigabit, a £5 billion mission to deliver gigabit-capable broadband to 99% of UK premises. answer	answer is ministerial correction date of answer 14/03/2024 answer text <p>At Spring Budget 2024, the government announced that Landfill Tax rates in England and Northern Ireland will be adjusted from 1 April 2025. This will restore their value following a period of high inflation which was not foreseen by the OBR when rates were pre-announced.</p><p>The government remains committed to tackling waste crime which is a blight on local communities, harms the environment and undermines legitimate businesses operating in the sector.</p><p>The government agreed with the Public Accounts Committee’s recommendation that the current ongoing review of Landfill Tax takes account of incentives to commit waste crime. answer	answer is ministerial correction date of answer 19/03/2024 answer text <p>Parents have a right to educate their children at home and must provide a full time, efficient, and suitable education if the child is of compulsory school age. The government supports this right. There are no specific legal requirements as to the content of home education, provided the education provided is full-time, efficient and suitable. This means that education does not need to include any particular subjects and does not need to have any reference to the national curriculum.</p><p> </p><p>The government’s elective home education guidance sets out eight components that local authorities should consider when determining whether a child is receiving a suitable education. The department intends to provide further information on what should be considered when determining ‘suitable education’ as part of the consultation to review elective home education guidance, which closed on 18 January. Responses are being analysed and the department will publish the revised guidance and consultation response in due course.</p><p> </p><p>Part of the government’s strategy to reduce the harm of drugs is Frank, which is the number one drugs information site in England, and reaches audiences from 11 to 54+ supporting pre-users, regular users, concerned others and schools with information on drugs. Frank receives over 5 million page visits per year, and is updated to reflect new and emerging patterns of drug use, including the effects and risks of nitrous oxide.</p><p> </p><p>The Frank service remains a key element in providing accurate and factual advice on the risks and effects of a range of drugs and alcohol, as well as broader advice around substance abuse, including sign posting to relevant services.</p><p> </p><p>The Frank helpline is available, 24/7, 365 days of the year. Their trained advisors deal with, on average, 100,000, calls, emails, texts and webchats per annum, providing a help service for people who are concerned about their own or others’ drugs consumption. We want everyone, including people of restricted growth, to live their lives free from discrimination and harassment.</p><p>The Equality Act 2010 may protect people of restricted growth on the grounds of disability, depending on the particular circumstances. The 2010 Act defines disability as “a physical or mental impairment which has a substantial and long-term adverse effect on a person’s ability to carry out normal day-to-day activities”. An employer or a service provider is required to make reasonable adjustments to ensure that disabled people are not put at a substantial disadvantage compared to non-disabled people.</p><p>On 5 February 2024 we published the final Disability Action Plan together with the independent analysis of the consultation findings. The Disability Action Plan sets out 32 practical actions in 14 different areas which the government will take forward over the next 12 months, with disabled people, disabled people’s organisations, and other government departments and public service providers, to improve disabled people’s daily lives, as well as laying the foundations for longer term change.</p><p>Any disabled person who may have been personally discriminated against in employment or provision of services because of a disability may contact the Equality Advisory and Support Service (EASS), the government helpline established to provide free bespoke advice and in-depth support to individuals with discrimination concerns.
