answer text
The current general practitioner (GP) contract allows practices to opt out of providing contraceptive services to their registered patients. Where they do so, NHS England has responsibility for ensuring patients of those practices have access to such services.

All prescribed contraception in England is provided free of charge to the user. Therefore, 100% of girls under 18 and women who are prescribed contraception in England will receive this for free. Those GP practices who have not opted out of providing contraceptive services and sexual health clinics may also distribute free contraception.

Information on the frequency with which the oral contraceptive pill is prescribed, and whether GP appointments are required is not collected centrally. Such decisions are a clinical decision of the GP concerned taking into account the individual circumstances of each patient.
more like this

answer text
NHS England plans to invest in a new £340 million Cancer Drugs Fund (CDF) to provide early access to cancer drug indications. Under the new process, any drugs that receive either a draft recommendation for routine commissioning or, where uncertainty exists, a recommendation for use within the CDF, will receive interim funding from the CDF from the point of marketing authorisation.

This earlier access to cancer drugs will benefit both patients and the pharmaceutical industry and NHS England believes it is only fair that the pharmaceutical industry makes a contribution if any overspend occurs.

NHS England’s impact assessment will not be completed until the detailed outcomes from the current consultation on the future of the CDF are confirmed.

more like this

answer text
The recent protests and work of the plenums are evidence of Bosnia and Herzegovina's (BiH) political stalemate and economic malaise. We are making clear to BiH's leaders that the onus is on them to respond to the socio-economic grievances expressed by protesters and the plenums, most recently in the Secretary of State for Foreign and Commonwealth Affairs, my Rt. Hon. Friend the Member for Richmond (Yorks) (Mr Hague)'s meetings with the Presidency and the Foreign Minister on 27 and 28 March. We see an opportunity also for the international community, particularly the EU, to support reform ahead of October's elections. This includes assistance through new initiatives on economic reform and anti-corruption announced by EU Commissioner Fule, and the EU Special Representative's planned ‘Compact for Growth'. We support these efforts to develop and build popular support for concrete reforms in economic governance, transparency and anti-corruption.
more like this
