answer text <p>The Government published its response to the Independent Medicines and Medical Devices Safety Review on 21<sup>st</sup> July 2021. In this response the Government did not accept the recommendation to establish separate redress schemes for the three interventions discussed in the report, including sodium valproate. Our primary focus is on improving future medicines and medical devices safety and it is therefore crucial that we focus Government funds on initiatives that directly improve future safety (including specialist mesh centres and support for families affected by medicines in pregnancy). For this reason, redress schemes will not be established in response to the recommendation in the report.</p> more like this

answer text <p>We are supporting the Iraqi government as it works to deliver the non-sectarian governance and meaningful political reconciliation and reform needed to rebuild public trust in the Iraqi state and unite all Iraq’s communities against Daesh.</p><p>We welcome the commitments that the Government of Iraq has made to inclusivity, to protecting Iraqi citizens, addressing human rights abuses, holding those responsible to account and to delivering the public services and economic opportunities which Iraqis want and deserve.</p><p>Through the Conflict Stability and Security Fund we are contributing £6m to the UN’s Funding Facility for Immediate Stabilisation, to help the Iraqi government stabilise areas recently liberated from Daesh and re-establish security, basic services and inclusive local governance. These funds will contribute to a number of projects designed to support community cohesion and encourage reconciliation, acceptance and tolerance between communities at a grass roots level.</p>
