answer	answer is ministerial correction date of answer 25/07/2024 answer text <p>The kind of surface water flooding that Hastings experienced in 2023 generally occurs after extreme rainfall when water cannot immediately drain away or soak into the ground. It can happen very quickly, be difficult to predict and can be exacerbated by impermeable built environment and overwhelmed drainage capacity.</p><p> </p><p>The responsibility for local flood risk management falls to lead local flood authorities (LLFA), in collaboration with water companies. The Government’s Flood Resilience Taskforce will deliver flood defences, drainage systems and natural flood management schemes. In addition, our Water Bill will put water companies under tough special measures where they do not meet performance expectations, by strengthening regulation as a first legislative step towards improving the sector.</p><p> </p><p>When a flood occurs, LLFAs investigate which risk management authorities have relevant flood risk management functions and whether they have exercised those functions.</p> answering member constituency Kingston upon Hull West and Haltemprice answering member printed Emma Hardy question first answered 25/07/2024 16:20:59 answering member 4645 label Biography information for Emma Hardy

answer	answer is ministerial correction date of answer 15/11/2023 answer text <p>The UK Government’s Plug-in Vehicle Grants have been in place for over a decade. This includes the Plug-in Motorcycle Grant, which was introduced in 2017. It provides £500 towards eligible zero-emission L3 vehicles (motorcycles) and £150 towards eligible zero-emission L1 vehicles (mopeds). Through this grant, the Government has provided £8m funding to support the adoption of these vehicles.</p><p> </p><p>A consultation on when to end the sale of new non-zero emission L-category vehicles (including mopeds and motorcycles) was conducted earlier this year.
