answer text <p>Between March 2023 and March 2024, Welsh Ministers have conducted over 20 overseas visits. Close engagement between FCDO and Welsh Government officials ensured that Welsh Ministers were effectively supported on each visit. This included FCDO officials accompanying Welsh Ministers in their meetings with ministers of foreign governments, as appropriate. FCDO officials attended all such meetings.</p> more like this

answer text <p>The Department for Business, Energy and Industrial Strategy engaged with the arbitral bodies and with stakeholders to keep oversight of uptake of the scheme and to determine if initial stakeholder concerns about cost and capacity had any substance. We reminded parties in August of the closing deadlines for the submission of cases.</p><p> </p><p>The deadline for the submission of cases recently passed on 23 September 2022 and arbitrators are in the process of considering the cases submitted and will be publishing the outcomes as required by the Act. The assessment of the impact of the Act is ongoing and will be published in due course.</p> more like this

answer text <p>The Department for International Trade (DIT) has established an extensive engagement framework and has consulted regularly with the UK agricultural sector throughout the Free Trade Agreement (FTA) negotiations with New Zealand.</p><p> </p><p>Prior to the start of talks, the Government carried out one of the largest consultations ever undertaken to inform its approach to FTAs, including New Zealand. Throughout negotiations, the UK negotiating team has continued to closely consult experts, including in dedicated trade groups set up by DIT such as the Trade Advisory Groups (TAGs). The National Farmers Union (NFU) have formed part of these consultations throughout, and in May 2021 DIT Ministers held discussions with the NFU across the UK.</p> more like this

answer text <p>The Government has provided enhanced support to the retail, hospitality and leisure sectors through business rates relief given the direct and acute impacts of the COVID-19 pandemic on those sectors.</p><p> </p><p>A range of further measures to support all businesses, including those not eligible for the business rates holiday, has also been made available. For example, the Government has launched the Coronavirus Job Retention Scheme to help firms continue to keep people in employment and the Coronavirus Business Interruption Loan Scheme offering loans of up to £5 million for SMEs through the British Business Bank backed by an 80% Government guarantee, and has deferred VAT payments for this quarter.</p> more like this
