answer text
Our managed migration processes will develop gradually as we design them with our stakeholders, and we are working to ensure that we get our approach to support in this process right. Alongside this, other learning, including that from the delivery of Universal Support in new partnership with Citizens Advice, will feed directly into the managed migration pilot and we will consider how best to develop the broader Universal Support offer once the pilot is complete.
more like this

answer text
The qualifying conditions for the Christmas Bonus (which has been set out at £10 since it was introduced in 1972) are published on Gov.uk. The qualifying benefits that produce entitlement to a Christmas Bonus are non means tested benefits, such as Attendance Allowance, Personal Independent Payment and Carer’s Allowance. The income-related working age benefits that Universal Credit replaces were not treated as a qualifying benefit for Christmas Bonuses and therefore the payment of Universal Credit does not directly produce entitlement to the Christmas Bonus.
more like this

However, when we need to communicate with a claimant whose first language is not English or Welsh English we use interpreters This can be a customer’s own interpreter, a local community based interpreting service, a telephone interpretation service or a contracted face to face interpretation service. In addition, where there is a need we are also able to translate correspondence into languages other than English or Welsh.

Our work coaches may also look at ways to support claimants through a range of local and national provision if a lack of language skills is likely to represent a barrier to work.
more like this

answer text
We have made no specific assessment for newly recognised refugees. Provided the eligibility criteria for Universal Credit is met, we will always offer an advance payment to a refugee when making a new claim. DWP staff have access to information on a range of services and support available in their local area for vulnerable claimants including refugees. This includes Universal Support which provides help with using online services and budgeting advice. We also have access to a range of translation services to assist should the claimant need support to overcome any language barriers.
more like this
