answer	answer is ministerial correction date of answer 28/01/2021 answer text <p>The Government condemns the appalling abduction of the Dapchi school girls in 2018 and the ongoing captivity of Leah Sharibu by Islamic State West Africa (ISWA). We remain deeply concerned for the welfare of Leah and all those held by terrorist groups in Nigeria. Following the attack, the then Foreign Secretary spoke to the Nigerian Vice President to express condolences and discuss UK assistance. We have repeatedly called for the release of all those abducted by Boko Haram and ISWA, including Leah Sharibu, and remain committed to supporting the Nigerian Government to secure their release. The Nigerian Government has provided assurances that they are doing all they can to secure the release of Leah and all other abductees held by terrorist groups in Nigeria. President Buhari issued a statement in February 2020, reiterating his Government's commitment to securing the release of all children and captives of terrorists and to bringing Leah home safely. We will continue to engage with the Nigerian Government in support of urgent action to secure the return of Leah Sharibu and all abductees. The Government is committed to helping Nigeria tackle the threat posed by the terrorist groups in North East Nigeria. answer	answer is ministerial correction date of answer 17/03/2021 answer text <p>Two contracts have been awarded to PPE Medpro by the Department with a total value of £202 million and seven contracts have been awarded to Purple Surgical by the Department with a total value of £226 million. Information concerning whether any of the personal protective equipment (PPE) has not met the required quality standards or a particular specification, whose fault that is and what should be done about it are regarded as commercially confidential information as this process involves negotiations with the supplier where we may seek a refund or other redress as per the contract terms in these contracts.</p><p> </p><p>In terms of how these suppliers were selected, the Government issued a public call to action to support the increased requirements of PPE. The aim was to reach suppliers who had experience of supplying PPE and also those who had no prior experience but who had access to sources of PPE through their business contacts. This resulted in over 15,000 suppliers offering their help and support, including PPE Medpro and Purple Surgical.</p><p>All suppliers were evaluated by Departmental officials on their financial standing, compliance with minimum product specifications and ability to perform the contract. This sets out the support being made available for people in the winter months. This plan includes advice on wellbeing, information on accessing mental health services, support in communities and support for frontline health and social care workers.</p><p> </p><p>Talking therapies will continue to be made available remotely so people can access help safely from home and the National Health Service will work to ensure the option of face to face support is provided where it is clinically safe to do so. These communities face significant discrimination, including restrictions on freedom of movement and access to healthcare. The Foreign Secretary and Minister Adams both raised the use of discriminatory laws to disenfranchise the Rohingya with Myanmar's government prior to their elections in November 2020. The Prime Minister called State Counsellor Aung San Suu Kyi after the elections and reiterated the UK's concern at the plight faced by the Rohingya. We have urged the Government of Myanmar to comply with the International Court of Justice's provisional measures ruling which would ensure that the Rohingya are protected from further atrocities. The UK has provided over £44 million to all communities in Rakhine since 2017, including over £25 million for the Rohingya. This capacity includes services to people with neurological diseases, for example physiotherapy, occupational therapy and speech and language therapy. The provision of rehabilitation support in England is a local matter, and local commissioners are best placed to provide services according to local need.</p><p>NHS England and NHS Improvement have commenced work on updating their guidance for clinical commissioning groups on commissioning accessible, high quality rehabilitation services.
