answer text
The 2019 Judicial Diversity Statistics provide data on the diversity of the judiciary, as of 1 April 2019. Disability information is currently collected on a non-mandatory basis by self-declaration. Disability information of judicial office holders is not presented as part of the statistics as, for those who do not declare a disability, it is not currently possible to differentiate between those without a disability and those who chose not to respond to the disability question.

From 2019/2020, Judicial Office are changing the way they collect diversity information to help resolve this issue. This will allow judges to access all of their diversity information on a regular basis to ensure it is up to date and accurate. Judicial Office will begin to collect more robust disability information, alongside other diversity information, with the aim of including it in the published statistics, subject to appropriate declaration rates.
more like this

I raised our concerns about Freedom of Religion or Belief and the protection of minority religious communities with Pakistan's Federal Minister for Human Rights, Dr Shireen Mazari, during my visit to Islamabad in February 2019. At the UN Universal Periodic Review of Pakistan in November 2017, the UK pressed Pakistan to strengthen the protection of minorities and to explain the steps being taken to tackle the abuse of the blasphemy laws.
more like this

answer text
We have worked with large employers and expert partners to develop a voluntary reporting framework to support organisations to record and voluntarily report information on disability, mental health and wellbeing in the workplace. This framework was published on 22nd November 2018 and is aimed at large employers with 250 or more employees. The framework encourages employers to report what steps they are taking to support their disabled employees and employee health and wellbeing as well as the percentage of individuals within their organisation with a disability or a long-term physical or mental health condition. Government are working with partners to actively promote the framework and to monitor and review its effectiveness.
more like this

answer text
The Special Educational Needs and Disabilities (SEND) Code of Practice (2015) sets out high expectations of schools, alternative provision and colleges about how they identify and meet the needs of pupils with special educational needs (SEN), including those with speech, language and communication needs. The code emphasises that schools, including alternative provision, should work closely with their local authority and other providers to commission specialist services directly, such as speech and language therapists. This guidance is attached.

The code is clear that schools should take appropriate steps to identify and address any learning difficulties presented by a child. The support that will be provided for children and young people with SEN entering alternative provision, with or without an education, health and care plan, should be agreed as part of the commissioning process. To allow for continuity of support, mainstream and alternative providers should promptly share appropriate information on a child or young person’s SEN.

Commissioners of alternative provision should ensure that there is a clear plan for pupils’ progression and keep the arrangements under regular review so that they can be adapted in response to the needs of the child or young person. Where an alternative provider has concerns that a child or young person may have a speech and language difficulty that is not being appropriately supported, they should raise their concerns with the commissioner and agree how these potential needs will be assessed and supported.

Clinical commissioning groups have responsibility for commissioning services to meet the needs of their local population, drawing on National Institute for Health and Care Excellence guidance to agree the specifications for communication support. The protection and safeguarding of children and young people from harm is of paramount importance to all parts for the health care system. All providers should have their own governance arrangements in place for responding to non-attendance at appointments.
more like this
