<p>The Government is committed to cut crime and ensure swift, fair and effective justice
so that everyone enjoys the fundamental security that comes from living in safer streets
and communities.</p><p>The Government is investing in prevention to ensure that every
opportunity is taken to stop these unnecessary crimes from happening. This includes
our manifesto commitment to launch a new Safer Streets Fund, which will support areas
in England and Wales that are worst affected by acquisitive crime to invest in well
evidenced crime prevention measures.</p><p>Further information on the Government’s
evidence-based approach to crime prevention can be found in the published Modern Crime
Prevention Strategy: https://assets.publishing.service.gov.uk/government/uploads/system/uploads/attachment_data/file/509831/6.1770_Modern_Crime_Prevention_Strategy_final_WEB_version.pdf,
which is constantly held under review. At present, there are no plans to publish a
further Green Paper or White Paper on this area.</p>
