answer	answer is ministerial correction date of answer 22/11/2022 answer text <p>To ensure access to cash is protected, the government is currently taking legislation through Parliament as part of the Financial Services and Markets Bill. Following a public consultation, the Bill will establish the Financial Conduct Authority (FCA) as the lead regulator for access to cash and provide it with appropriate powers to seek to ensure reasonable provision of withdrawal and deposit facilities. In exercising its powers, the FCA must have regard to any local deficiencies in the provision of cash access that it has identified and considers to be significant. The government’s view is that this will allow for consideration of local circumstances in all parts of the UK, and will help ensure the most vulnerable are protected. Further details about the Bill can be found on the Parliament website.</p><p> </p><p>This Bill builds on the government’s longstanding commitment to safeguard financial inclusion across the UK, including via the provision of basic bank accounts. Existing legislation requires the nine largest personal current account providers in the UK to provide basic bank accounts, so customers are equipped with a bank card and can access banking and payment services.</p><p> </p><p>The FCA has a considerable evidence base on cash provision and use across the UK. Analysis that was published by the FCA in February 2020 found that 5.4 million people are still reliant on cash. Meanwhile, the FCA’s analysis shows that, as of the end of 2021, over 95% of the population are within two kilometres of a free-to-use cash access point, such as a free-to-use ATM, bank branch or Post Office branch.</p><p> </p><p>Finally, Treasury Ministers and officials have meetings with a wide variety of organisations in the public and private sectors as part of the process of policy development and delivery. The UK, along with our Allies, is offering visible and practical support to BiH's territorial integrity and to maintain the EU military mission (EUFOR) and the Office of the High Representative in BiH. answer	answer is ministerial correction date of answer 07/05/2020 answer text <p>The government has announced a UK-wide range of support, including the Coronavirus Job Retention Scheme and various business support packages to assist businesses whose viability is threatened by the COVID-19 outbreak, including the Coronavirus Business Interruption Loan Scheme, Coronavirus Large Business Interruption Loan Scheme and COVID Corporate Financing Facility. Higher education providers that meet the published criteria for the loan and financing schemes should approach their bank and begin to apply for the relevant scheme, if they think that they need that support.</p><p>We are working closely with higher education providers and the Office for Students (OfS), as the regulator for the higher education sector in England, to ensure that we maintain an up-to-date understanding of the financial risks and implications COVID-19 is bringing to bear on the sector. OfS has stated that one of its key priorities during the pandemic is to support the financial sustainability of the sector. This information is used to raise local awareness and support local needs assessments. PHE has also published <em>Delivering Better Oral Health: an evidence-based toolkit for prevention</em>, which provides dental teams with evidence-based advice and training resources that will help them to raise their patients’ awareness of the common risk factors of oral cancer. A copy of the toolkit is attached.<p> </p><p>During 2017-19, a national Commissioning for Quality and Innovation (CQUIN) incentive scheme will require all mental health and community trusts and, in 2018-19 acute trusts, to deliver alcohol and smoking brief interventions to all adult inpatients. answer	answer is ministerial correction date of answer 24/11/2016 answer text <p>The Government does not hold information on the monitoring by police Counter-Terrorism Units of anti-fracking activity, or the number of arrests made by each Unit associated with any such activity.</p><p>The Government has not given specific guidance to the police on the use of undercover officers in anti-fracking groups. This is an operational matter. However, the police use of undercover officers and other covert sources is regulated by Part 2 of the Regulation of Investigatory Powers Act 2000 (RIPA) and subject to guidance in the Covert Human Intelligence Sources Code of Practice published under section 71 of RIPA.</p><p>Prevent training does not include any reference to participation in anti-fracking groups.</p><p>The Government has not issued guidance to the police regarding exchanges of information between the police and the coal and gas industry. A joint Government of Ethiopia and UN assessment is underway and we are in touch with our UN and Non-Governmental Organisation partners on the ground to determine the extent of need.</p><br /><p>In October, the Government of Ethiopia announced that about 8.2 million people are in need of emergency food aid, up from the 4.5 million estimated in August. The number of severely malnourished children under five years old admitted to therapeutic feeding programmes this year has increased notably.</p><br /><p>Britain has acted quickly and decisively by providing emergency support for 2.6 million people. This includes food aid for 2.1 million people for a month. The Government of Ethiopia has also committed its largest ever response to a drought. The international community will need to work hard with the Government of Ethiopia to prevent the crisis from worsening in the coming months.</p><br /><p>DFID is at the forefront of resilience work to reduce the impact of crises in developing countries.
