answer	answer is ministerial correction date of answer 07/10/2019 answer text <p>For National Security Vetting purposes, Government policy does not define the terms ‘overthrowing’ or ‘undermining’ in any manner more explicit than the terms already indicate. The question asked of vetting candidates refers to ‘political, industrial or violent means’ and this offers context for prospective candidates to understand what types of activities are being referred to.</p><p>There are too many hypothetical examples for a comprehensive list to be feasible. Each candidate is assessed on a case by case basis, giving due regard to the guidance offered by the classified Vetting Decision Framework. answer	answer is ministerial correction date of answer 01/10/2019 answer text <p>I am responding in relation the Departmental headquarters building at 1 Victoria Street, London SW1H 0ET, where most staff are based.</p><p>Energy is supplied by Corona (gas) and EDF (electricity), and the total carbon emissions for 2018/19 was 2607.31 tonnes of CO2e. The Department does not hold the figure for how much of this specifically relates to energy consumption.</p><p>The Department uses the Crown Commercial Services energy frameworks for the supply of utilities, which can be used to secure the supply of energy from renewable resources. The Department is committed to reducing the impact of its operations on the environment and achieving net zero emissions by 2025, which is why from 1 October 2019, electricity will be supplied solely from renewable resources. answer	answer is ministerial correction date of answer 23/07/2019 answer text <p>To achieve the NHS Long Term Plan ambition, we are modernising our world-renowned cancer screening programmes by introducing faecal immunochemical testing into the NHS Bowel Cancer Screening Programme and human papillomavirus as the primary test in the NHS Cervical Screening Programme.</p><p>NHS England is establishing rapid diagnostic centres, which build on the 10 models piloted through the ‘Accelerate, Coordinate and Evaluate’ programme, which have focussed on diagnosing cancers where patients often present with non-specific symptoms and may go to their general practitioner (GP) many times before being sent for appropriate tests. These will be particularly important for the less-survivable cancers.</p><p>NHS England is extending lung health checks, targeting clinical commissioning groups with the lowest survival rates. In Greater Manchester introducing low dose CT health checks saw an almost five-fold reduction in stage 4 disease, with 80% of cancers diagnosed at an early stage.</p><p>There will also be efforts to continue to raise awareness cancer symptoms, lower the threshold for GP referrals and accelerate access to diagnosis and treatment.</p><p>As set out in the NHS Long Term Plan Implementation Framework, local systems are being asked to create their five-year strategic plans to deliver the commitments in the NHS Long Term Plan. Plans should be created by November 2019. System plans will then be aggregated, brought together with additional national activity and published as part of a national implementation plan by the end of 2019. answer	answer is ministerial correction date of answer 27/03/2019 answer text <p>We have now established the Trade Remedies Investigations Directorate (TRID) which will be responsible for assessing the case for a trade remedies measure, used to protect UK business including steel from unfair and injurious trade practises such as dumping and subsidization. This trade remedies function is currently held within DIT but will be established as an arm’s length, independent body, known as The Trade Remedies Authority (TRA) following Royal Assent of the Trade Bill.</p><p> </p><p>Following a consultation with UK producers, we have identified UK production in 26 of the existing EU 45 trade remedy measures on steel products. These measures will be transitioned to the UK’s independent trade policy upon exit from the EU. The Government will also transition those EU definitive safeguard measures where there is a UK producer interest. During the same period, the volume of police charged cases and referrals for pre-charge decisions has declined.
