The next round is due to take place in the coming month.</p><p>Both nations have come to the table with an ambitious set of asks and a willingness to work together towards a mutually beneficial deal. We are continuing to negotiate and the Secretary of State will only sign when we have a deal that is fair, reciprocal, and ultimately in the best interests of the British people and the economy.</p> more like this

answer text <p>The Government has not made an analysis per the Lord's question, as no responsible House of Commons or House of Lords committee has published a report concerning India pursuant to section 3 of the Trade Act 2021.</p><p>The UK has engaged with India on a range of human rights matters, working with Union and State Governments, and with Non-Governmental Organisations, to build capacity and share expertise to promote human rights for all. This is undertaken on an ongoing basis and separately to the negotiation of a Free Trade Agreement.</p> more like this

answer text <p>Free Trade Agreements (FTAs) are negotiated at country or trade-bloc level. As such we do not have any state-level free trade agreements with India.</p><p>The ‘2030 Roadmap’ outlined our aim of doubling trade by 2030, with the intention to negotiate a forward-looking FTA and lowering barriers to trade through an Enhanced Trade Partnership.</p><p>The UK and India are committed to working towards the best deal possible for both sides. Progress is good; however, we are clear we will only sign when we have a deal that is fair, balanced, and in the best interests of the economy.</p> more like this
