<p>We have recently publicly consulted on our manifesto commitment that there should be mandatory CCTV recording in slaughterhouses in all areas where live animals are present. The consultation closed on 21 September and we are aiming to set out the Government’s response to the consultation in late autumn, in advance of laying secondary legislation before Parliament in early 2018.</p>
