answer text <p /> <p>The DS1500 is used to support claims to a range of benefits from people who have been diagnosed with a terminal illness by a healthcare professional. In line with our aim to continuously improve the service provided to people who are terminally ill, the Department works with a range of stakeholders, including healthcare professionals and support organisations, such as MacMillan Cancer Support, to identify and introduce improvements.</p> more like this

answer text <p>In response to the recommendations of the independent Palliative Care Funding Review, we set up eight pilots to collect a range of data on palliative care and to test the review’s recommendations. The pilot phase was completed in March this year.</p><p> </p><p>NHS England is in the process of analysing the data and designing a new palliative care currency framework. Decisions on how best to develop a fair and transparent funding system for palliative care will be based on this evidence.</p><p> </p> more like this
